It made tracking and following these forums more fun. Weathernext has mopped the floor with every model on earth since tropical season. It’s definitely the new king (for now). First one to sniff out this evolution of this storm and did it around day 5/6. Lol not for me. As a hobbyists I want as much access as I can get. If it's on stormvista then I may look into it myself.
Met1985
Well I'd rate this storm a B-. We rarely get an ice event like this but this morning was a surprise. Looking forward to flow snow tonight on the backend of all this mess. Also if I come across strong with any of yall my apologies. I know this storm tested a lot of us and our friendships on here. Ill admit im an asshole from time to time but I mean well. It was great tracking with you lads.
Maggie Valley Steve
Hey Gang. I really appreciate all of you and it was great to see so many folks that don't normally hangout in our Mountain threads year round. Thanks for letting an old man that has loved all things weather since a little boy participate and pass along a little bit of what I've learned and occasionally share some information from longtime friends in the weather business.

I still have power, and so far all my family does too. No matter what, it's going to be slicker than crap in the morning. We have a good group on here!
Hvward
Northwest flow moisture heading this way on the Morristown radar. Looking pretty juicy over Nashville and that will head our way.

Moisture looks good.

Then the flip to rain and power stayed on! 5

Hvward
So um, anyone sick enough to look at the 18z Euro? 5 days out, that could trend for us. 3 1

Spidyr2k
I can never give freezing rain a passing grade. "F" for terrorizing us the past three days. "C" on the model performance, but truthfully, this setup was a tough one to nail down precisely. Hopefully, more and better winter wx ahead.

Been through many winters around these interwebs. Im going with a solid B. Cold! It was 18 this morning with SN/IP. Colder than any system IMBY in a long time. That what super awesome. Rose to 29 when the heavy banding came in around 3:30ish. Lots of diamond dust this AM and during the morning. Super cool to see during the heart of the storm Crazy ass sleet pouring our of the sky. Either way, after the super high totals went away around Wednesday I was just glad to enjoy the ride.
wncsnow
Unique event. Super CAD met super warm nose and won. Models were pretty bad. NAM3k was best for ptype. HRRR useless. RRFS useless. Euro was bad in ways and so was the GFS. I give it a solid B here too.
calculus1
I’m gonna go A-.This storm reminded me of those winters as a kid. The sleet was fantastic! The CAD was amazing! Still in the 20s here. Hardly any glaze, just enough to be pretty, so I never lost power. Sledding was great. Schools will be closed Monday (and probably Tuesday and Wednesday here in Catawba County). Roads are straight up glaciers. This whole next week will be abnormally cold. Loved it!

Globals weren't even close, which is fascinating to me but oh well. And Hunter, if I see maps floating around FB of this next storm I might lose my mind. SUNSHINE SUNSHINE SUNSHINE I need a break. 2

It's totally calm in Maggie and very thick fog has settled in. I'm sitting at 46 and the only sound I hear is Jonathan Creek rushing through town. I ended up with 1.73 inches in the gage for this event.

Hvward
Looks like Northwest flow is cranking up pretty good I see it snowing on the ring cam at my Tiny House in Alexander. Looking at the 6z Euro storm is still there and it likes the idea of an earlier phase. That's the solution that works best for us for this weekend. Good Ensemble support for some type of snowfall accumulation on both 0zEPS & 0zGFS as well. Could have some legs.
