We're having it now. The longevity, the temperatures, the heat index,  the mins. This is by far the hottest June stretch on record in the northeast

It just hit 102.6 here, but the clouds moved in =\

It hit 102+ twice already, once at 12:36 (and then clouds came) and then again right at 1:00 (and then the clouds came back.)

All local stations 94-96 today so far.  Definitely more clouds around.

The clouds are the only thing keeping it from 100+ for everyone.

In my experience if there is a dry downsloping wind in the summer it will always hit 100 here unless there are clouds

and there are always clouds, I've never had a completely clear summer day here on a very hot day.

Yesterday it was basically no clouds

Tthe two consecutive 102° highs at JFK Airport (June 24-25, 2025) is only the second such streak on record there. The only other streak occurred during July 22-23, 2011.

Yesssss I'm glad JFK did it too, I was worried when the clouds came in earlier than forecast.

Don, why is it that when the sky is 75% clear that clouds still seem to find a way to cover the sun?

You'd think going by probability that 25% cloud cover would mean that the sun would be shining 75% of the time, but it always seems that the clouds are in the same part of the sky as the sun.

This happened here yesterday between 3-4 pm and now today

How inaccurate would it be if I had a thermometer about 25 feet off the ground instead of the two meters? I know it depends on daily conditions but i am asking overall.

Now it's almost completely overcast here :-( I guess that very early 1 PM high of 102.6 will do it for me today.

It could have been 106+ again today if it wasn't was for those darned clouds.

Don was a statement put out by the NWS? At what time did JFK hit 102 today? I was at 102.6 at exactly 1 PM
