MSP was 82F overnight, but has since dropped lower due to thunderstorm activity. Thunderstorms stayed south of the airport. I don’t think we dropped below 81. Feels like New Orleans out here. SolidIcewx
Going on 1130 and already have to change shirts at work. Going to be a fun few days. Can feel the air getting thicker as the morning goes on.
OrdIowPitMsp
From the NWS The forecast low of 83 at MSP would be the second warmest low on record, and 3 degrees short of the all-time record of 86 from the Dust Bowl era.

Haven't looked elsewhere but it looks like MSP has at least tied the daily record. St. Cloud has set a new daily record.

Also, the low of 80F at Eau Claire, Wisconsin was 1F shy of both the June monthly record high minimum and the all-time record high minimum. La Crosse, Wisconsin was 1F shy of the monthly & 2F below the all-time record. Possibility that one or both gets set or tied tonight/tomorrow if the winds stay up enough. Also would need to stand through midnight local time. Not sure if there’s a risk of convection there tomorrow.

DTW did hit 92 but Detroit City and Mt Clemens only hit 89. I suspect I only hit 88-89 on the east side by the water. A bit underwhelming for day 1 but the main heat should be tomorrow thru Tuesday. cyclone77
Temps underachieved here today with only 93. Only 93 at MLI as well. Mid 70s dews pushed the index over 105 though. Our hottest temp so far remains the 95 back on May 15th, although that was with much lower humidity.

nvck
cvg record high for jun 23/24 is 94, which i'm fairly certain will get broken, probably for both days.
Torchageddon
The start of the heat wave here busted; only got to 27 instead of 30C, my current temp is 25C but some showing it rising mid-evening and staying around 27C til early morning. They lowered (WUN) tomorrow's high from 34 to 31C, what a gas! That heavy rain and storm mid-day cooled things but I feel the sultry with the vital breeze. OrdIowPitMsp
96 today. Forecast was 98 so I guess a bust low. Still 91 at 9:30pm Both MSP and STC hit record high temperatures on Saturday, June 21, breaking the previous records of 95 set in 1910. The exact values for each are still being verified, but they reached at least 96. Record high temperatures are possible again on Sunday with hot/humid air in place and the warm front remaining to the north of our coverage area. *** Record Highs Sun June 22 *** Location | Forecast | Record ------------------------------ MSP | 97 | 98 (1911) STC | 95 | 98 (1911) EAU | 95 | 99 (1995)
