A great stretch of weather ahead with slowly warming temperatures. After a weekend with below normal temperatures with overnight lows in the 50’s and highs not too far from 80 degrees we should see temps getting well into the 80's by the start of the new work week. There could even be some 90's especially as usual across the valley locations by the middle of the week. No rain chances till at least Wednesday.

Maybe it's just me but after a very pleasant morning it feels decidedly more humid outside now. The change over the past several hours felt striking.

Edit: Just reviewed the dewpoints over the past 24 hours and it's been between 62 and 64 the entire time. No uptick at all. So...it is just me. :)

You said you had decent rain overnight - might be as silly as the ground holding some moisture that's radiating up that you're feeling.

That might be a usable excuse except for the fact that my comment was made after walking around campus here at work where it did not rain yesterday. LOL

I have a feeling some others, won't be so optimistic about the heat. But i'm sure they'll sweat through it.

Sweat through it indeed. I'm going to be sweating and thinking about how wonderful it will be when it's dark prior to 5pm. Magical time of the year. Just over 3 months away!

Another chilly start of the day across much of the area with temperatures well down into the 50's. The chilliest station I could find was the Warwick DEOS station at 52.1 degrees. Through the first week of August we are running almost 7 degrees below normal temperatures for the month. We should slowly start to turn this temperature deficit around during the next week. We start a solid warming trend on Sunday with temperatures finally getting back to above normal levels. By mid-week some of the lower elevation spots may reach the 90's with increasing humidity to add to the discomfort. The week looks dry with maybe our first shot of rain arriving by later Thursday.

Getting dark ar5pm is depressing, especially if it's cold and a bitter cold wind is gusting.

I respect that idea, I truly do. For me, it is therapeutic. I honestly feel better and truly love early darkness. It feels very homey and very sentimental. I associate those nights to the holidays and the onset of winter which are both hugely important to me.

With today's high/low splits of 76.0/56.7 we have now recorded our 8th straight below normal day to kick off the month of August. This August is now off to the chilliest start (avg. temp of 67.6) in my 22 years here in East Nantmeal. The prior chilliest was back in 2013 with an average temperature of 68.3

Not sure what the weenie emoji was for on this post, as MDT has also started with a negative departure every day this month.
