Most spots saw temperatures between 81 and 84 yesterday. Today should be a degree or two warmer and will be the warmest day for a while. The pattern turns a bit unsettled later tomorrow and through the weekend. Not a washout at all but some showers are most likely on Saturday. Shower chances appear to increase again by next Tuesday. Our relatively wet pattern looks to continue with no foreseeable heat in our future. In fact most models show near normal to slightly below average temperatures through the 4th of July. They also use a less wishy-washy scheme without the near normal buffer zone, so it has a true 60-70 percent chance of above normal in the northern half of Pennsylvania and 55-60 percent in the south. ChescoWx
Digging into the past climate adjustments to Central PA - the same consistent chilling adjustments to the past that produce a warming trend line after these adjustments as we see across most of the U.S. to the historical data NWS data set. Green color is actual raw data....blue is after NOAA/NCEI makes their tweaks. If not for these chilling adjustments to the blue revised average annual temperatures - not much warming if any. Officially, we did it an hour ago, but until now, it was 89.6, .7, and .8 Now it's a true 90. No one in Chester County even close to that the last 2 days....86 was the highest. What is your elevation there Voyager? assuming a low valley locale??

Don’t let the warm trolls bother you. We get 2 days of seasonal warmth & out they come. At least we don’t need to suffer through all of the “Drought” maps anymore.

Thank you for this… I am already done with Summer & we are just getting started. We are getting a new HVAC system installed later next week. In the meantime, I am squeezing out what little chill is left in the old system, which isn’t much. I have it set at 72 & we have been hovering near 80 in the house today.

There were several areas in the LSV that hit 90 yesterday- my high was 91, which was verified by the airport down the road which also reached 91. I think @Blizzard of 93 reached 92 if I'm not mistaken.

ChescoWx
Today will be our last day with high temperatures near 80 degrees for about the 5 days. That is pretty close to the normal high for next week across the area. The good news is there is no sign of any 90-degree temperatures across Chester and SE Berks Counties till late June. Rain chances increase tomorrow and through the weekend but not a washout. The NWS has forecast of rain to be between a 0.25" to 0.50" by Monday morning. Generally showery weather looks likely to continue for Monday and Tuesday before we finally clear up and warm up to near 80 degrees again by mid-week. Mount Joy Snowman
Low of 65. Looks like none of the statewide ASOS station hit 90 yesterday but quite a few local ones reached 89. Really hoping any storms hold off this afternoon so I can get a mow in. Have to head to Sunbury tomorrow for a baby shower. Happy Friday, nerds.
