High of 87 today. There are now 3 large fires burning out of control in northern Minnesota.

Super weird seeing photos of large wildfires before leaf out has taken place.

Camphouse, Jenkins, and Munger Fires. All over 1000 acres, if not around 2000 acres, each in size this morning. Cooler wx, and rain in the picture starting Thurs.

Some of my favorite local spring weather, mostly sunny low 70s with intermittent rolling low fog, some foggy blocks have trees trapping moisture and dripping. It's all very cool.

Full sun back at apartment less than quarter mile away

Been foggy here all day. But go 1mi inland from the lake and it’s clear. Kinda neat!

Fires have expanded rapidly. Camp House is at 10k acres, Jenkins Creek at 15k acres, and Munger Shaw at 1600. Over 100 structures burned (cabins n homes). Tomorrow, the rains enter the picture, so that will be a great help.

The Greenwood Lake fire back in Aug 2021 burned 27k with 14 structures burned. On the map, you can see that lake to the NE of these fires was the general area of that one.

Another fairly impressive marine layer next to the lake again today/tonight. I’d guesstimate about 1/4-1/2mi visibility right now. Go just a few miles inland and it’s clear. Am I weeny enough when fog gets me excited?

(And don’t give me shit about my lawn I’m a renter lol)

Edit: Way below even 1/4mi now just before midnight. This is really isolated to very close to the lake but pretty impressive. Can’t see the flag at all now in my original pic.
