Why can't this happen in the winter? Well over an inch and counting....

That does happen in the winter. But then it's also just an inch.

Not a ton here but enough and a ground soaking each day for several days in a row... I'm sure the vegetation enjoyed the frequency.  ~1.50" here, the ASOS had more.

I’ve noticed the corn has shot up considerably over the last week.

New England needed this synoptic set-up with a cut off low just spinning pinwheels of moisture around the region.

High sun angle and insolation with good surface dew points, under the upper level low... the convection started up almost immediately as the sun reached a certain point each day.

Only .17" in last nights rain.  4.77" total Mon - Wed.  A nice crisp morning 59 @ 5:30am

Impressive. Lots of have and have nots, but at least many got a drink.

Alright fair enough....The stratus had 1.86" from that storm yesterday evening. Event total was 3.16", not bad after going 15 straight days without a drop of rain.

Really Chris? It poured! Almost .35" in about 30 mins or so, early am hours about .25", I'm at exit 4 area, it was a welcome sight

Really. When the radar spiked yesterday afternoon I was staring straight up the side of the updraft. The rain shaft was probably 500 yards away.  This picture was right when the radar was healthiest.  Blue skies overhead, darkness 3 streets away.

You caught up fast. I ended up with less. The best stuff was just to my west yesterday so you cashed in.
