Wow some of that looks like about golf ball size which is about 1.75” diameter. That’ll bust out windshields real quick, thanks fully the hail here was much smaller and caused no damage but was definitely loud as hell on the roof. Flash Flood Warning now up as well 1.9” of rain here in about an hour.

Lots of water rescues going on around the city under viaducts.  Not sure why people are even out driving with the curfew.  We got smoked by that cell!  That was the most intense storm I can remember in quite a while.

Round 2 is charging across Michigan and on schedule to hit buffalo again around 8-9am. We’ll see what happens as diurnal effects usually weaken and turn these systems sharply south.  Could be a hell of a 12 hour window of storms though.

So its pretty funny. Not sure if I told anyone this or not. But my next door neighbor is a photographer and storm chaser. She chases tornadoes all over the midwest. It was destiny to move next door to someone that loves the weather as much as I do. We talk about it all the time. A few pictures from her.

They fizzled out right before hitting. Looks like the south end of this MCS is hitting PA quite hard.

While the presence and placement of last nights storms was well forecasted, the intensity was a huge miss.  Quite fascinating to see an event like this occur with very little advanced warning.  The Hazardous Weather product called out Gusty Winds and heavy rain as the primary threat, and confidence seemed low from the verbiage in the discussions.

We ended up with 60,000ft storms spitting golf ball size hail, winds gusting to 70mph, rain rates near 3-5"/hr, and continuous cloud to ground lightning for well over an hour in some locations. It's kind of fun to know that a storm can still catch us almost completely off-guard.

We had the best snowstorm of the year the second week of November. We had nice Spring weather in March.  And we just saw the most intense thunderstorms that we'll see all summer and potentially for several years happen the first week of June.  We've really blown our loads early  these last few seasons.

I mentioned this exact fact a week or so ago when we hit 93...the extreme weather of winter was a month before the winter solstice and the extreme heat was a month before the summer solstice...coincidence?

            TREE DOWN.

1.5" hail! That is insane for this area. Definitely the largest I've ever seen.

I mentioned this exact fact a week or so ago when we hit 93...the extreme weather of winter was a month before the winter solstice and the extreme heat was a month before the summer solstice...coincidence?

Snow in July coming next. :mapsnow: Or better yet a Hurricane that maintains its intensity until over New York State. ^_^

The High Res NAM does really well with warm season convection, or it has as of late.

Wondering what BUF did to anger the atmosphere so much (purposely lose at hockey??).  After bullseye-ing BUF last night and to a lesser extent this morning, a narrow little storm just popped up and sat on....BUF!  I know the storms are fun to watch and all, but...i have dead flowers/garden plants from hail, water ponding in the yard, and it's basically been nightime in early June for the last 18 hours (dark as night most of the day today).  Freaking enough already.

It turned out to be a beautiful evening here in central New York.  The sky has cleared and temperatures are in the mid 70s.

One perfect cell taking dead aim at my backyard!  What a treat!  Just a nice perfect summer thunderstorm.

They issued a warning for that cell.

Only had very heavy rain and thunder here but appears to have developed some hail and gusty winds just downstream of me.

I think I get almost as excited for thunderstorms as lake effect bands. Don't tell tughill that though. ;)

Hey, now. Why are you getting me involved here... :P  I saw the "almost" in there...

Tues and Weds look very warm. Could top 90 each day.

Tuesday
Sunny, with a high near 89.
Wednesday
Partly sunny and hot, with a high near 90.

Ideal. Don’t like the look of the upper level trof dropping in next weekend, hopefully that flattens out as we get closer.
