Definitely not weather conducive for exterior painting of the house. That final phase of our total renovation will have to wait another week I suppose.

We never got above 49 or below 47 yesterday/last night.

Im just amazed at this spring nearly summer weather we have been having. Very impressive and very cool. Another low of 49 this morning.  Looks like a brief warm up then another cool down. It has been a long time since we have actually had a decent spring around here.

Next week looks chilly and unsettled once again as a strong upper trough and stalled frontal boundary meanders nearby.

Yep was just mentioning that. Man if we can keep this going through July we will have it made I believe.

Looking at the GFS it appears the next cool down is courtesy of air getting funneled down here from Hudson Bay, unbelievable on the ways air from the north ends up IMBY this spring.

I used my new calculator and after in depth calculations I came up with a mean temp of 48º. Not bad for June.

It was definitely a front porch evening watching thunderstorms roll across Maggie. Fingers crossed we can get the exterior painting project completed this week in spite of the forecast!

How are the Rhododendrons looking at the higher elevations? Is it too late?

Great question.  I know around here in Haywood it is too late but im not sure up around Boone or Grandfather mountain.

Looks like Haywood County is going to stay wet today. Training cells/showers are lined up back into KY on kmrx radar.
