The euro weeklies thru the 24th of January has a snowfall mean for us of 8-10"    I'm thinking it's 20-30 pennies,  8 -10 nickles, and a dime or 2.

Guess beggars can’t be choosers

Some stats... take them as you will.

For Columbus...

Since 1878, there have been 32 years that saw at least 2.5" of snow by November 30th, similar to 2019.  Of those 32, 19 of the following winters had above to much above normal snowfall.  An additional 3 had normal snowfall, with the remaining 10 being below to much below normal.  4 of those below normal years came within the abnormally bad snow period of 1920-1949, during which there were just 4 winters that reached normal snowfall.  The remaining 6 were scattered across the other decades.  Half of the below normal years still reached at least 20" for the season. The overall average snowfall for the 32 was 30.9"

So overall, the early season snow was much more of a positive sign than not for snowfall.

As for cold,  18 following winters were colder than normal, 6 were near normal and the remaining 8 were above normal.  The average temperature was 30.2, a bit more than 1 degree below normal.

The weakening and slowing trend for Monday’s storm is a good sign for most of Ohio, especially us along I-70. It allows us to cash in on a few inches of snow on the front end before warming up to rain for a bit.

We have certainly become a cynical bunch here in central ohio...first winter headline of the season and cue the crickets .

I know, right? Hopefully it works out. Bummed about upcoming warmup.

Here in Bellbrook a hair under 4 inches. Watching to see where the rain-snow line sets up this afternoon. At least till the end of the week it will look like Christmas here. Christmas week.....nah-so-much.:weep:

Same IMBY, heavy and wet, must have had double that fall to compact down to just under 4".

Perfect snowfall here. Movie-like. Have about an inch and a half so far in about 2hrs. Sure makes the Christmas lights look nice.

Had the exact same thought when it came in last night....almost looked like fake snow.  Big slow-falling flakes.

Today is the 15 year anniversary of the 2004 pre Christmas winter storm. Won't ever forget those 2 days.

Definitely a top 5 winter event.for me.  Heavy snow followed by a quarter inch of ice made for the most beautiful Christmas Eve and Day landscape ever.   Of course not so much for the poor folks without electricity through the holidays.

Record storm for me. A two parter that dumped 26" on me with no ice. Incredibly, it was gone in a week!

That’s where winters around here have gotten us-reminiscing on storms 15 years ago.

Now c'mon....March '08 was only 11 years ago :P

LOL. I was thinking of that one while typing. Almost 12 years ago now and March storms don’t count!
