  1. 112mph in Bellbrook! That's faster than my car!
  2. Well, I'm very much a reader here, rarely a poster. Therefore I will add one more positive to this winter. We did see the return of Buckeye. Nice to see that. Hasta
  3. Guys, The pics and videos really capture the intensity of that derecho. Fortunately, by the time the storms reached us here just south of Dayton OH, top winds speeds in my backyard were 47mph. Hope you guys stayed safe and didn't suffer too much damage.
  4. Yikes! I knew we got a ton of rain, but that's intense. Does it inconvenience you much? It's just off 725. Neighbors...
  5. Last night around the Dayton area was nice. Cute little snowfall. This winter, that's all we got. But I still love epic snowstorms, arctic cold. Miss those winters...
  6. After the big tornado outbreak here in Dayton, last Memorial Day, I'm coming here to hopefully jinx the severe weather projections for this area. Sorry guys. We don't need any more severe weather around here for awhile. How 'bout 6 inches of snow or somethin' :-)
  7. I remember that 2013 storm very well. Forecasters in the Dayton area finally gave up on the snow, sure that the rain/snow line was north of us.... Then all of a sudden, a couple of hours before the storm hit, iluvsnow sends me a email with bold letters saying "WAGONS SOUTH!" That night we got that 8-10 inches of all snow, great ratios too. Ah...the good ole days...
  8. Snowlover2 Was that 2014 microburst the same one that gave me a ton of hail damage to my roof? Anyways, back to Winter.... I remember enjoying the Winter of 2013/2014. Starting in December, we have multiple snow storms throughout. Some forecast, a couple of misses, and a couple of surprises.
  9. Thanks for posting that, snowlover2. Wonderful memories of that major snowstorm. Impressive analysis.
  10. Interesting. What do you think of this?
  11. Hey HighTechEE, During that same event, my neighbor's home, just diagonally across from me, lost his home in the fire that resulted from a viscous lightning strike. Yikes
  12. I know. I'll let someone else give the correct answer
  13. Iluvsnow and I are buddies, and neighbors (along with HightechEE). Bellbrook! Full disclosure: Despite my solid-citizen-weenie status, I work at WHIO-TV. I'm in ad sales, but I do have the luxury of spending time in the weather office. The Mets know I'm a snow weenie, and they enjoy showing me their perspective. Of course, I learn so much more coming here. It's a blast! Keep up the great posts and commentary. Looking at the graphics and maps above, my house is right there - where the 8-12" line touches the 6-8" line :-)
  14. Elwell just left WHIO-TV here in Dayton, about a month ago. Back to Columbus...
  15. Thanks Iluvsnow and HighTechEE for posting these and representing the neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised to see snow rates pick up again early this morning. Great event, and I agree.....bring on more!
  16. I'm cracking up reading these "memories" Iluvsnow is the one that introduced me to Easternwx back in the day. I mostly read your posts during the Winter season, and I rarely post myself. I've witnessed some epic meltdowns, and I've enjoyed some great snowstorm threads.
  17. I saw the JB video. Sounded like he was about to cry. The Clark W Griswald Jelly of the Month stuff is classic. Hilarious! However, I'm laughin' 'cause I'm damn near cryin' too this winter. Need a snowstorm!
