I'll have to check to be sure but I think KGSO went over yearly record today. In related news I'm officially over the rain.

SINCE MIDNIGHT, THE PIEDMONT TRIAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HAS

Quick note:

During the last rainstorm, Greensboro's total precipitation for 2018 reached 62.41". That made 2018 the wettest year on record for Greensboro.

Gonna add to it Thursday. Appreciate you tracking this,  nice follow. GREENSBORO has also had roughly 20 inches of snow for the calendar year. Last Jan was about 8 inches and 12 this December.

Another storm will bring a moderate to perhaps significant rainfall across the Southeast and Lower Mid-Atlantic region tonight into tomorrow. A general 0.50"-1.00" with locally higher amounts approaching 3.00" can be expected. As a result, numerous cities will add to their already excessive annual precipitation.

Below is YTD precipitation (through 8 pm), 2018's ranking among the wettest years, and rankings scenarios for 0.50"-1.00" precipitation for select sites:

Already, numerous locations have set annual precipitation records this year. Those locations include:

Danville: 65.93"
Elizabeth City: 63.60"
Grandfather Mountain, NC: 97.79"
Greensboro: 62.41"
Highlands, NC: 116.41"
Lexington, KY: 70.60" (through 8 pm)
New Bern, NC: 78.04"
Newport/Morehead City WFO, NC: 100.88"

There is a possibility that Asheville, which has received 74.14" through 8 pm today could reach or exceed its annual record. Asheville's record is 75.22", which was set in 2013.
