NYC is currently sitting in fourth place for the warmest Augusts with 2 warm departures to

coming close out the month.

80.3...1980

79.7...2005

78.8...1988

78.7...2015&2001

78.5...1995

78.2...1938

78.1...1955

78.0...1939

77.8...1944

77.7...2002/1983

As others have pointed out this month...stations outside of urban areas with the help of radiational cooling have seen lower departures. While cp with over 100 years of record will finish 3rd or 4th warmest, my station with 38 years of record will finish at 6th or so warmest.
