ag3
Mar 2013 wasn't an inverted trough. It was a direct moisture plume thrown way west into New England around a closed 500mb low well out in the Atlantic. No it wasn't. It was a huge inverted trough. SleetStormNJ
It's a CLASSIC widespread Inverted trough setup. See March, 2013 for a recent similar event. It's actually as good for us as can be right now given the overall pattern and various forcing mechanisms in place. I'm sick of people bantering about north this and north that on this threat. Yes, history favors NE but the pattern is suggestive of a strong possibility we could get hit. We have more going for us than people seem to be realizing. Look at the 500mb maps. There's potential here for us. This is not going to be a blizzard but a moderate snowfall is very possible.

nyblizz44
.25+ for All of nj and .5 gets very close to nyc. All of Long Island gets .5+ with .50 and extremely low temps , my question is what are we looking like at snow growth heights? Ratios will play an uber crucial role in getting an MECS into here even though we appear to be on the southern peripheary QPF wise.

snowman19
Let's see the euro ensembles but this may actually be turning into an event for us surprisingly. The gfs is pretty much the only one showing zippo but then again this is a northern stream system which gfs does normally do good with
