    Winter 2017-18 banter thread

Believe you me I dont forget that winter, we had our first born arrive in late Feb and I remember that night was 1 of the very few that featured any snowflakes, the mere fall of flakes was a big deal that winter. I remember cutters, when there was precip, short cold dry periods and rinse and repeat. That's why even if we dont see a flake for the rest of the month ( not likely by any means as Xmas- to new year's looks promising)- I still wont complain.
  2. Doesnt this make the point that a -NAO , while a good thing to have, is far from the only factor to drive cold & snow to the coast?
  3. Sunny , gorgeous but tropical rain forest like feel to air in Kew gardens, Queens
  4. The rain has been so hard the last 45 minutes in Kew Gardens Queens it is causing noise pollution!
  5. Torrential rain, you can literally hear rain running off in Kew Gardens. Huge thunder and somewhat frequent lightening

Yes that falls within the Outer burbs I referenced. Suffice it to say, and its been said already, this was not, locally, the beast we signed up for.

I doubt very mucb BX meant Blizzard conditions met in NYC proper, they were met in some some of the far outlying suburbs and just outside of the Upton coverage region as per the report I read

U got that right, no accumilations in the local area, a deform band looks to be forming around Poughkpsie though, the climatelogically rich sure got richer this week. Not jinxing them or anything! LOL

Just like this one went South tonight it could come back equally organized tomorrow night at the same time right before the event itself. They could still go either way

The really interesting part of that read? The ''focusing mechanism'' , thats the billion dollar question, whoever figures that out can become a Norlun 'expert'!

I doubt its that truncated though, a streamer typically is 3-5 miles at its heart, but I get your point. I think this is a situation that should start to sort itself out a this time tomorrow, a few hours before the event, with the more reliable Meso models. As long as the NAM keeps honking till then. It certainlt has had impressive consistency for several runs now.
