Superstorm93 Posted January 19, 2015 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Where do you view the UKMET Dr. Ryan Maue just put up the UKMET on his website in preparation for its big upgrade coming in February or so (called ENDGAME) Having the 6-hour plots out to Day 6 is a very valuable tool to have when making a forecast since it tends to mirror the ECMWF in the winter and comes out a bit earlier than its European cousin. chietanen Posted January 20, 2015 Share Posted January 20, 2015 At least 6 dead in traffic accidents yesterday due to the ice. Saw a tweet from a forecaster from Mt. Holly who called it "a bad forecast miss." Tough day to be a weather person, it was such a close call. You wonder if a freezing rain advisory even would have changed much.
