Bob Chill
Still illegal here too until Congress approves it. Anyway, I'm out of town next weekend (taking the kid to a Detroit Lions game....yes...I'm going to Detroit on purpose)...so that's the range of yalls next snowstorm. Enjoy. Just like the GFS, they're testing the product before acting
Bob Chill
GEFS improved with heights in western canada, n of ak, and over the pole. More members joining the trough in the east down the line. Heck of a lot of cutoffs on the run too.
WxUSAF
^that's certainly an improved look, Bob. GOA trough has retrograded toward the Aleutians and rising heights out west. As Wes alluded to, if those high heights in Canada keep backing up toward Baffin Island and Greenland, things could get excting.
Bob Chill
The only scenario that would work for us is a crawling bomb tucking west into SNE and precip driving all the way down here in the cold sector. It's only possible with a bombing/crawling system and not worth thinking too much about. There's some ensemble support for a little frozen down here but I'm not enthused unless a perfect scenario happens and we won't really know the evolution until Mon. Heh, euro is kinda digging this idea...

Bob Chill
It's obviously rain verbatim but if there is any way to get snow out of it, a similar evolution could do it. Sucks that the NS vort destroys the midlevels and surface in advance. 850's @ hr 120 are -2 to -

SnowGoose69
does anyone know why accuweather's euro is like 2 hours delayed? Its because it doesn't display til its totally in, or about 20-30 minutes give or take til its totally in, I asked once about getting it to display frame by frame as it comes in but they said nada. T. August
The sfc on the Euro is wayyyy too warm for accumulation. It's not even in the 30s for most of our region.
Ian
It's probably wrong anyway. Hoping for snow from a storm that loops back into us is not wise. I see it's given up on the first crazy idea it was having.

Was like the 1950s 1950 Yeah, but that retro'ed all the way back to Detroit if I remember correctly. I'm certainly not opposed to the idea if it happened like that though......
