Didn't they just issue a tornado warning for Northern Westchester?

PUTNAM COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...

• UNTIL 515 PM EDT...

• AT 435 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO NEAR YORKTOWN

HEIGHTS...OR NEAR MAHOPAC...MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH.

• OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

CARMEL...LAKE CARMEL AND BREWSTER

Funny how the environment just west of most of sne is slightly better and how that's playing into things. Some of those better parameters should cross over us later on though

LLJ should be on the increase now in the NYC area and that may promote a few more discrete cells down that way.

What happens when we lose daytime heating though? I guess with that enviro translating east later it may not matter too much

well you don't need boatloads of CAPE in such a highly sheared environment.

I don't know about tor threat but could definitely envision numerous svr warned elements moving across the area tonight. Wind threat is real id say.

The stuff in SE PA is congealing into an ugly mess and moving NE. May become more of a flash flooding threat on the nose of developing LLJ/strong warm advection?
