Yeppers...there should be WSW's issued immediately though.

Weenie Suicide Warning for all of SNE.

Not for all of SNE. Sitting here in Boston, the storm will need to stay south and east for us to not go over to rain. If a farther south and east track happens and it stays mostly snow here, it could be a rude awakening for the city -- most forecasts are for a coating to 2".

Our in-house model gives you 3-4"

Tony

I have heard other mets mention in house model predictions.

Just curious on how the in house model works. Without giving any secrets away.

How does it come up with predictions?

Thanks

This stage of the year I don't care if we get snow or not. I will admit it would have be nice to see someone else pick up a foot of snow.

I'm definitely ready for some warmer weather.

Four about four days late last week into early this week, the top half of some of the ridges around here were coated in ice from freezing drizzle and freezing fog.

My friend from work went out and took some photos:

That's some great stuff there. My favorite out of the bunch is that one with the sunset. Was tryin to figure out which ridge that was and then I saw the last photo link you posted had a picture of what was def 322 coming off Philipsburg Mountain. I remember seeing ice on the Allegheny ridges down here too, I had no idea the ice was that thick. Thought I heard Tussey even had some ice on it too.

Welp, my thinking of a possible last second shift west in the models ended up bein crap. This storm doesn't really look to get its act together until its off to the northeast.. thus making the best snows in northern New England by the looks of things. I'm not really surprised this storm cancel happened instead of it backing back west, but it still drives me nuts. With that said, the Pocono's and PSUHazelton's of the world look to still get some OK accumulations.. probably mainly advisory variety with some warning totals that may show up in the really high ground. The 22z HRRR run actually tries to get decent stuff down all the way into Lancaster County and outside of Philly. Further southwest, the HRRR seems to be trying to bring some stuff into the central counties overnight for the potential of up to an coating to an inch for most, with some of the ridgetops in the ridge and valley and the Laurels maybe seeing a couple inches. The lower Ridge and Valley near the MD border doesn't look to see much at all.

22z HRRR snow total

Jamie

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Last Thursday afternoon I was heading towards Pine Creek on RT 220. And the trees on top of the mountains was iced like that.

With the sun shining on them it made for a really neat picture. The only problem was I didn't have my camera. At least someone captured it.;)

Well this storm kind of fizzled on us. Onto warmer spring weather!
