Per WCVB in boston

roof of a hangar at Swift Aviation Services also collapsed at the Norwood Airport, damaging the six planes and one helicopter that were inside, two of the aircraft likely completely destroyed.

Just turned on WHDH. Gas station canopy in Weymouth, another building in Chelsea, small comm. building in W. Brookfield.

Becoming more in more clear which structures are the most vulnerable. Gas station canopies, hangars, older brick buildings, carports. Large industrial buildings. NECN showed a video of an industrial building collapse where they said the building was not that old. EDIT: This was Triton Technologies in Easton, MA.

This is becoming a serious problem now. Getting dozens or reports already today.

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- A building on Main Street in Middletown collapsed on Wednesday morning.

Officials said the third floor of a building located at 505 Main St. collapsed crashing onto the second floor and into Main Street.

As the building collapsed, bricks were thrown into Main Street and and least two trees were snapped.

Officials said workers on the second floor of the building began to hear creaking before the collapse.

Fire crews, who were located less than block away, immediately sent firefighters to the scene. Firefighters said that as they arrived the building began to crumble.

Due to concern for the integrity for surrounding buildings, all buildings surrounding the collapse were evacuated. The Fire Department and Police Department are working to evacuate the area and make it safe prior to any further investigation.

Main Street is closed from Washington Street to Liberty Street. Ferry Street was also being blocked.

No other information was available.

Building Collapse on video

Follow-up.

About 150 employees escaped from the Easton building, which housed two businesses. Employees at the Brockton building, which Casieri described as “nice and neat” other than the collapsed roof, had stayed home from work Wednesday.

“It’s just an unfortunate natural event,” Easton Building Inspector Mark Trivett said of the Easton collapse.

The Easton building had adhered to all building codes, Trivett said. Files kept on the 25-year-old Easton warehouse showed multiple permit applications. Nothing in those records indicated any major structural deficiency that would have contributed to the collapse.
