  1. That is a nice looking map for me but it's the Euro... Nice evening outside with low 80s and decent humidity
  2. Gut wrenching forecast being west of the good rain cutoff. I'm hoping the blue ridge rain shadow that kills me with W to E moving storms helps me out this time with the E to SE winds
  3. That's good news thanks for posting. Reminds me of winter when we get excited over the qpf totals going up
  4. 0.15 here Euro looks good for my area tomorrow but it's the Euro. The other models look sparse
  5. East of I95 looking good for rain tomorrow. Maybe I'll get some clouds? Comfortable 70 degrees start to the day
  6. Barely got into the northern tip of that VA line for just 0.10 and the northern line is lined up to miss to the north. So glad I set my irrigation set up today which is running right now. $uk it mother nature
  7. I wish that line had filled in -- looks like a close call for my area to catch the northern extent of it
  8. Because it's bad for many right now outside of maybe NE MD. Wasn't there a ridiculously wet year a few years ago where places got 60-80 inches compared to the average 40? That probably skews it. Anyway I'm seeing leaf drop from mature trees and have fewer hummingbirds and butterflies than I've ever seen at this point in summer
  9. I'd love to have one of those night thunderstorms with lots of lightning. What a wild day in western NY with a large area under enhanced. Already several tornado warnings
  10. I wasn't going to set up my irrigation kit since I only planted tough stuff -- tropical milkweeds, lantana and annual vinca. But even those have been suffering and hand watering by hose doesn't work as well so I broke down and installed it. Guaranteed rain this evening for that parched, cracked garden 94/77 (108) ouch
  11. Good info! Last year we had just 8, with 3 in a row July 27-29 and 5 in a row from Sept 3-7. Would have been a nice number if not for that Sept heatwave. This year's number is going to be ugly
  12. Caught the edge of a shower. Not much rain but dropped the temp to 80 That's wild south south of Balt. Says up to 2" has fallen with up to 1.5 more. They'll have standing water while a few miles away is bone dry
  13. Right! I've gotten to where I really hate the 6 months of dead looking bare trees with dreary, drizzly 40s and 50s. We're retiring soon and if we're gonna have hot summers, well give me a longer growing and gardening season. I know we'll pay in summer further south but the 6 months of coats and dreariness with almost no snow in return has gotten real old 95/74 (105)
  14. DCA 99/75 (112). C'mon one more degree!
  15. Wow it's hot, even on the deck under tree shade is rough. I feel bad for the millions of folks in Texas with similar heat and no AC for while I wish the remnants of that thing were further east as tropical might be the only way we get good rains here before fall
  16. I went and looked -- at the time (2 pm) their HX was 117! They are down to "crisp" 95/72 now lol Right now I'm at 98/73 HX 108
  17. OT but has anyone been to Corolla, NC? We went a couple summers years ago and the water temps there are wild. We had one day with water in low 80s and the next morning it was 60. Then back to mid-70s the next day
  18. LWX disco sounds optimistic for rain chances over the next few days. Let's hope as some CoCoRaHS reports in northern VA had only about a half inch for the month of June. That is ugly
  19. Cloudy, breezy and a cool 66. Base state!
  20. Yeah sorry to the many who got nothing all weekend. I feel blessed to luck into 0.6 last night. This is going to be a rough summer with many 95-plus days and very little rainfall
  21. Today's been nasty. I can't even imagine what the infamous 101/90 at Appleton, WI in July 1995 felt like
  22. Wow Frederick/Ballenger Creek getting it again! A not much else around (so far)
  23. Getting decently sunny already at 10:30 am. Hope we get some good rains later
  24. That's good and hope it "threads the needle" to keep the worst winds off any of those islands. I remember when beautiful Grenada was devastated by Ivan 20 years ago
  25. The lightning in the distance in that Frederick storm was beautiful as we drove back home from Calvert yesterday. Managed to get into the southern edge of that for a much needed 0.6
