  1. Thank you for posting, @wxdude64. He seems to have made 12 posts on Feb 24 which the obit lists as the date of death. Watching the weather to the end. (Guess I shouldn't say...don't know anything about the circumstances. Just saddened.) May the angels lead you home, Roger.
  2. Chuck , that cardinal shot looks like you pointed your camera at a high quality Christmas card painted by an experienced artist. Great photo !
  3. True snowfall at 1:30 in Annapolis. Mod- Hvy. We're a couple hours behind here, but it's scenic.
  4. Just started to mix in to snow about 1:15 here in Annapolis.
  5. I happened to check the high temps for March and this is a bit like the mighty 1979; which Feb was insanely cold (departure -11.1) and snowy (the Washington Birthday storm...PD1), then very warm. Here's the high temp leaders: Of course, we still have half of March left to beat that 85, I suppose.
  6. Hit 73 here; (I didn't expect it); my highest temp since 74 on October 19. Still overcast all day here
  7. Reading those reports of sun and warm (mostly in VA) just reminding that we haven't seen sunshine here in the lowlands since Sunday, I think. Overcast, mist, fog, dzl. A little clearing at night, but night doesn't count.
  8. Moderate snow in Annapolis. Not windy. Quite pretty.
  9. Feb totals, 2.94" precip, 2.8" snowfall . Highest temp 59, lowest 8
  10. Looks like BWI had a 60 in Dec, and a 62 in Jan., so they came dang close too. Still, quite a cool overall DJF winter for us.
  11. I've been thinking of that one quite a bit also. Difference, from observational standpoint, is it was preceded by a warm (+6.7) month of December. No cold to the ground at all. This week has been warm, but in our area, ground is still quite cold. Waters still frozen or freshly thawed, (i.e. cold). That 2022 storm didn't have any of that advantage, but still clobbered us here in AACo. Power out, roads closed, trees down. I think that it won't take much cold air to turn this in to an impactful storm. Just a bit colder than modeled, and we're back in winter.
  12. Plenty of heavy rainfall on the drive in to work. Roads runoff heavy. Wouldn't be surprised if the home station was approaching 1 inch.
  13. Over .5" here and still mod/hvy rain. 37f and miserable.
  14. Just returned from dog walk. Steady rain, 37f. Total crap weather. Even the dog doesn't like it.
  15. Temps 22-54 today, with sun. Significant range. Did some shoveling , but ice on the north side remains impenetrable even though meltwater ponded on top. Have been using old rubber mats and wood ash to keep walking paths safe. Not much longer I guess .
  16. Has become strangely windy in Annapolis.
  17. That Clarksville station seems to run strangely cold, (0 deg). I remember it was a -7 outlier on Jan 30 (when I attended a funeral in Clarksville)
  18. 0.3" snow pre-dawn . Temp fell from 30 to 20. DP 4. Breezy
  19. One addition.....Come on; this is AmWx.
  20. BGE power out here 8:30. We went through all that weather with no glitch, then this pops out of nowhere. They estimate midnight restoration.
  21. Month total precip 3.41".....snowfall 9.0" (difficult measurement, probably too conservative) Highest temp 61, lowest 5. Third straight January with above normal snowfall.
