  1. And...(for those too young, or not from around here), it was over 70f two days before. We didn't believe that flurry-cast. At work we had to share a couple snow shovels to get out of our parking lot, since most shovels were still in basement/garage/shed summer hibernation. Following winter was reasonably good Jan, but lousy Feb.
  2. overnight low of 30, climbed to 37 at dawn. Sky slate grey with snow clouds. Wood stove burning against the gloomy chill.
  3. DP dropped to 29 here...(Just in case it wasn't dry enough yet.) Temp 47
  4. I foresee a midnight low for today, (maybe 57?), but I'm not staying up for it.
  5. High of 83. Surprised because we've consistently been running several degrees cooler than the inland areas, (up til now).
  6. Purcellville 89, (first one I checked. And last, because there's not many stations in the area going back that far. )
  7. High of 82 today is my hottest of the month. And, my coldest, 32, was only 3 days ago. 0.30" of rain for October.
  8. Very cold. I remember it because we had just moved to Anne Arundel around Halloween, and the swamp pond down the road froze over and became covered with an inch of snow. Doesn't normally happen until Jan/Feb; if at all. BWI and IAD went below freezing every day of the month. Average anomaly -8, -9, or more. Not much snow though.
  9. Let us not forget that Jeb is also the reigning winner of the summer temperature contest. (I think he even surprises himself at times.)
  10. Did it this morning too; (dropped 2f from the hourly reading; 100% RH):
  11. On the current NOAA gadget, when Air Temp and DP are equal at frzg, the RH is 100%. I think this is correct. Here's an example at another airport (in NC) from this morning: Based on some surrounding stations, that BWI freeze is probably right. But we're so used to them being wrong, I agree it looks weird.
  12. Looking around a little,,,,looks like York made 30f and Frederick was 32. Small pocket of freezing; might be legit. Good catch @WxUSAF
  13. 36 Frost up the hill and in the open area. First frost in our neighborhood, I think.
