  1. Waldorf 46f....I sure wasn't expecting that.
  2. Thought I had a low of 66 with DP around 63 this morning. But, after about 45 minutes, when I left for work it had suddenly fallen to 64f with DP of 58. Shockingly dry for my neighborhood. (I guess if I was a real weather geek I'd have called out late to work just to see how low it would go) Becoming quite cloudy now.
  3. 0.26" overnight, most in a pre-midnight T-storm. Even got a couple good cracks of T&L. Otherwise, yesterday threatened but never rained. DP was up to 77 too. Morning low 68/67 with blue sky.
  4. Rather localized. I only got 1.30+0.40 overnight. I drove out to Davidsonville at 7pm and got pounded, but was just plain rain by the bison farm, then just a few sprinkles had fallen at Holy Family. Typical August storms.
  5. Noon time weather report modified to poetic descriptors. Very blue sky. Pleasant air. Like September arriving 4 weeks early. (eh, I supposed we'll be paying for this later.)
  6. Coastal Flood... South River is encroaching on the travel lanes of MD 450. This is a rare thing since the SHA raised the road at the river crossing. Plenty of wind driven twigs, branches, leaves down. Naval Academy gusted to 46. Had a brief power outage overnight. Less than 0.2" of rain overnight.
  7. 0.49" so far today, still lightly raining. Hi temp 83f on a mostly overcast day.
  8. Yesterday only 0.04" with t-storms all around, but just squeaking past us. High temp Sunday was 85f and very humid.
  9. A lot of folks never trusted AC. FDR was one of them...the White House didn't get chillers until it was renovated in the Truman administration. Had a friend of a friend who was a home builder and construction big shot. His own custom home (in Burtonsville I think), was very nice, all brick, modern, but no AC. I was a little surprised, and I recall my friend saying "Oh no...Ed didn't like AC." Both gentlemen long deceased now. Heart of gold...both of them.
  10. No rain Fri/overnight. Was unusually hot at 97f. Even KNAK hit 97. Starting today at 73. Could be worse.
  11. July total in central AACo .... 2.29", mostly in the second half of the month. Lowest temp 58f; highest 101 .
  12. Looking since just 1960, only 16 Septembers (out of 63) failed to reach 90f. It's a summer month here. Byrd stadium is a sort of solar heater, and early season games, (Noon on Saturdays back then), the temp at the game feels like 97/98; BWI hits 90. All plenty hot, even for a youngster. Add in a loss to the WV Mountaineers, and it's miserable. brief reference:
  13. You Verified: Pouring hard here now
  14. Just getting it now at work; down RT450 West Annapolis
  15. Since the feeder got moved, the steel shepherd's hook has been sitting empty out back. I watched out the window as one of the little rocket scientists climbed up it and started chewing on the hook where the feeder used to be. At least it figured it out and went away after about a half minute. Wacky rodents.
  16. Just a couple weeks ago, we moved the bird feeder from the back to the front of the house, just to get the squirrels away from the garden plants. Nothing else can stop them, despite having an enthusiastic squirrel chaser of a dog. (Dog doesn't go in the un-fenced front.) And, the bird feeder is quite squirrel-proof, but they just gather under it waiting for the birds to drop seeds down. And, a couple months ago, I replaced $100 worth of high pressure fuel line on the F-150 because they chewed a hole in it. (Long story. Difficult repair) eta: The feeder we've used for about 10 years; for those that are interested. https://bromebirdcare.com/squirrelbuster-mini/
  17. Mattie enjoying a cool beer while writing a brief note expressing his slight dislike for squirrels.:
  18. 62/60 quite cool for our neighborhood.
  19. DP fell to 63. Didn't expect that. Low temp 69f
  20. Lotta talk in this thread....exhaustive, almost.. https://www.americanwx.com/bb/topic/60046-2024-2025-la-nina/page/59/#commentsow
