  1. Downright cool out there by recent standards. 82f on the bumper. KNAK reports 67 DP. Overcast protecting us from strong sun. (Of course, it'll be raining just in time for the weekend to start)
  2. Most of the mix-ur-own are petroleum based, (lasts better and stronger), but you can get water based, which we use for clothing: Martins Permethrin 10% (hope that's the right one) Unfortunately, it's a chore to mix a batch and do all the clothing, hang it in the barn to dry, etc. But, if you're the organized type, (I'm not), it's good. Also have a Sawyer aerosol can so I can quickly spray my boots and hat anytime. Lazy but convenient. Part of our aggressive tick management plan, started after wife caught Lyme disease some years ago.
  3. 0.75" from last night's storm. And, add my station to the list of crazy lightning locations. Strongest T&L we've had in a few years, and without much wind.
  4. 1996 (Maybe I'm going back too far for the youngsters)
  5. 1.27" in yesterday's T-storm, plus a few more hundredths overnight. Was a loud T&L storm, but no high winds.
  6. Hearing from our beer brewing crew in 3, 2, 1 ...
  7. We've been hearing it 3 miles down 450 near Annapolis Reservoir, but just now getting a little rain from it. On radar, cell seems to be parked over Crofton, more or less. Curious what's in my home gauge.
  8. You're right; KNAK is running about 4f less today, hour for hour. DP a few points less too.
  9. All very true. Don't like it, but always seem to have some on the stacks. Also, produces a lot of light and fluffy ash which I find annoying.
  10. Instinct tells me better heating potential than yesterday. I look for stronger storms but less coverage. The NOAA says slight:
  11. Only about 0.10" here. Lots of thunder but generally ordinary storm. Power flickered many times but still on.
  12. 0.47" last evening plus overnight. Have had measurable rain 7 of past 8 days. Low of 70 today
  13. Looks like you hit a jackpot of cedar for those planter beds; (assuming you harvested/milled it yourself). The aroma must be great. (Or maybe my eyes deceive me) Nothing like working outdoors on a winter day with mans-best-friend helping.
  14. June total 5.31" Highest temp 95, lowest 46 Seems so hot now, but the month started quite chilly.
  15. Mega humid here. DP reached 82 but has now plummeted to only 80 so I pushed the lawnmower. Very sweaty endeavor but at least was mostly shaded by this time. 89 for our high today. Current 85/80
  16. Yesterday's total 1.59" for me. DP was up to 82 before the T-storm hit late evening. Sauna like. Was outside grilling burgers thinking this is the typical AACo summer we all know and love/hate. Low this morning 66f.
  17. 0.59" in Wednesday T-storm. Temp had already topped out at 95f before storm hit. Starting today from a low of 73 and clear blue sky.
  18. Yesterday's high/low 95/75 Low this morning 74. So, I'm forecasting high of 94f. (I think I said this same kind of crap yesterday, so take your grain of salt)
  19. Was just gonna mention about PAX. They've traditionally been pretty good. Starting to wonder what's up this year. As to Balto...it's been off for many years, starting when the MD Science Center installed some solar PV panels next to the instrument. Added several degrees to every reading. After a while LWX removed them from their list for a few years. I (for one) will never reference that site again, winter or summer. Maybe someone knows something about PAX. (There's significant knowledge hidden around AmWX; just need some patience usually)
  20. Yesterday's high 94f. DP...don't ask. (was 80 actually) Starting out 4 warmer this morning at 75f. I could see making 97 today if no clouds form. We'll see.
  21. Kinda noticed that this crowd isn't too well known for their sympathy. Few clouds popping by here.
  22. Verified here. Seem to have topped at 91f high DP 80. Now 86/79 under protection of overcast. Drove from Silver Spring...fell from about 97 to 88 in our driveway.
  23. Blue sky starting to peak thru now. Big rainer mostly.
  24. Just getting rain here now. Semi-Distant thunder. Looks like it's gonna squeak by just north of us in Annapolis. eta: and there's a smaller cell south of us....for those watching radar.
