  1. Total of 0.16"; half in a midday downpour, the rest in the evening. Very moist morning but almost nothing in the gauge (except pollen pods).
  2. 0.18" for today. Power flickered c.7:15p Moon peaking through now
  3. Recorded 0.12" yesterday to bring my April total to 3.13" Highest temp 84f; lowest 28
  4. For some reason I've been posting our cherry trees when they reach full blossom, and I think it was April 13 last year, and earlier the previous year. Anyway, they've struggled to reach full blossom this year; possibly due to a freeze followed by days of strong winds. Or, who knows? Took the pic on 4/16 but I think they kept coming until about 4/18 for peak.
  5. Low of 32 But no windshield scraping. Woodstove burning tho.
  6. 1.24" today. Still lt rn at obs
  7. Light rain starting about 8:15 And look at this: When did we start referring to 2 inches of rain as "showers" ? (That's like when the guy sprained his back shoveling 4" of "flurries")
  8. 0.63" at obs time last night, with bit-o-thunder; additional roughly .24" overnight. Morning low 44f. Windy
  9. Full day of overcast here. Hi temp 48. Winter day.
  10. Nearby stations @dailylurkerand @MillvilleWx have correctly summarized our swamps-of-Anne-Arundel winter with scores of A and B+ respectively. But, I am going to agree with the B+, based on the lack of, (or maybe near miss), of a KU style MECS. An A grade winter requires the KU and maybe a white Christmas. 18.4" snowfall is a bit above average here. Also, in our back yard, we had plenty of frozen waterways for most of Jan/Feb. Good indicator of true winter. Also, not IMBY, but worthy of note, is the widespread snow deep into the Gulf states.
  11. Humph. Quite overcast in Annapolis. 42f
  12. No way! I've got a goofy pile of cut-offs and miscellaneous that's getting beetles, and I want it gone before Spring, but I'm slightly fearful that we'll run out of Winter before I run out of wood. Mostly holly and red maple from storm damage. The tidal South River froze over again this morning. Looks thin, but is bank-to-bank. Impressive for March. Low of 20f both yesterday and today.
  13. Feb total 2.82" rain/melt...6.3" of snow Highest temp 66, lowest 15
  14. Low 16f overnight but climbed to 21 by dawn eta: Drive to work in bright sunshine, South River still way out to sea. A few clouds on the horizon.
  15. Tide way out on the South River this morning. Mud flats look freeze dried. Temp 25. DP 4
  16. 1/3/25 - 0.7" Brief thundersnow 1/6/25 - 9.7" All snow 1/11/25 - 1.2" 1/19/25 - 0.3" Rain all day changed to snow for last bit 2/6 - 0.1 mostly icy glaze 2/11-12 - 6.2" Season Total -18.2"
  17. Ah! I think you're right. It was Kornheiser. I knew it couldn't be Dave Barry, (of South FL) who preceded them both; (in syndication). (I edited my post)
  18. Feb '83 perhaps. In the early going he was influencing other TV mets to stay low. I think WaPo humor columnist Gene Weingarten Tony Kornheiser named him "Lyin Ryan" and it stuck, referencing it on several occasions. I always bought those weather almanacs he wrote, and they were pretty good. Don't wanna say anything bad though; he worked hard. We tease because we love. (Edited)
  19. Measured 2.5" at 19:45 29f/27dp Mod-hvy snow. Walked dog...all of us covered in 1 minute. Very pretty.
  20. Just walked. Mailboxes etc fully glazed, road wet. Truck parked in driveway glazed completely. Car which i drove this noon just wet, in same driveway. 31f frz dzl Yucky.
