SouthernWX....
Interesting. Browsing that platform I about lost my mind because it sucked so much. Major step back from AmericanWx as far as user experience is concerned.

Sitting at a bone-chilling 47 degrees .... If you look at those radar returns, and you did not have any models to looks at, you would swear that it was heading our way. Weather systems just don't move like they used to.
What’s the other board everyone keeps referring to? 33andrain or SouthernWX??

Maybe I won't get ridiculed for posting models that don't show the most snow here?
You’re good - this is the foothills thread. It’ll always consist of more of us getting screwed than winning BUT when we win, we’re popping the champagne in this thread.

There comes a time eventually where we score when we shouldn’t

Yea I love the discussions on the Mtn thread but unfortunately I can no longer relate to living there.
temps plummeting here ahead of the cloud cover. Can we make up ground lost today with the warmth??

Lol. I like all these guys, but at 2200 feet, I am a mountain guy ... without the mountain results lately. I appreciate the invite. I will bounce back and forth.
No worries man. I was just spitballing locations

Winds finally shifting from the SW blow torch to the WNW. Replacement Tempest station installed just in time for this event.

Maybe I’ve been asleep at the wheel but I’ve seen a ton of folks on weather twitter talking about the new AI models. Has anyone seen them? How do I even access them?

It's one run of many. I'm riding the gfs. Euro has been jumpy with both systems this weekend. In my opinion the gfs has been more consistent. Call me a weenie. I'll gladly wear that badge.
The good thing is that the models have already underperformed a bit on precip compared to the current radar. Makes me a bit optimistic that more of wnc can get involved.

I think Tennessee is the population that deserves a 40 degree rain on Memorial Day this year

If the 19th is a miss I am starting the Countdown to Winter 2024-2025 thread.
It’d be fair to do so. We haven’t had a February produce in about a decade

Yikes. Those thermals are going to give some folks in e tn heart palpitations.

Models have backed off for most even the 6Z euro. Looks like a non event for Asheville east
Downsloping in this setup is going to do exactly what you and I are accustomed to it doing.
