  1. Eric Webb probably sweating right now with his East Based El Nino call all summer.
  2. Derp. My bad. It's been awhile since I read a METAR as complicated as that.
  3. Wow when is this from? March 10, 2011 right?

  8. My wife is riding our Clydesdale outside. He loves rolling after a ride.
  9. Tower is 10 meters high. Support bolts go 4 feet into the ground in poured concrete. We won't need support wires. A mesonet site took a direct hit in Georgia from an EF-3 tornado, had no support wires and kept working.
  10. Frederick is a challenging county. The rapid growth is forcing us to be more deliberate with site selection compared to other jurisdictions. We look at a site that can align with a 30 year length so we can get better climate data.
  11. Latest Euro monthlies look pretty zonal with a lot of Pacific puke to be honest.
  12. It's an old site on Towson's campus that's being revamped.
  13. For those interested, here is a public facing GIS dashboard of the Maryland Mesonet sites. Expect updates as site selection is finalized and land use agreements are signed. A more complete website is being coded and will be available later this autumn. https://gis.menv.com/portal/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/cbd2b3566be0409da116ecfe8fb22739
  14. We're bleeding in the wrong direction and fast. Classic Mid Atlantic.
  15. Probably a lot of mixed bag events this year. The upside is we won't be dry as a bone in the boreal forests of Canada. Should mitigate the wildfire risk next spring.
  16. Really need dry weather from Oct 9th to 27th. We are pouring concrete for our first set of mesonet stations and rain will muck everything up.
  17. I need dry weather through Oct 27th. We are pouring concrete for the first set of mesonet stations and wet ground will delay everything.
  18. Interesting, time sensitive visible satellite right now across the region. The NW edge of the cloud shield appears to be running along MD 27.
  19. Pleasantly surprised as the sun winning out up here in Emmitsburg.
