    Perfect holiday script unfolding in Buffalo -- two plus days of heavy snow on 23rd and 24th followed by a break on Christmas day with temps in the 20's.

    Good chance we'll see a cold/snowy 12/20 - 12/25 at some point too despite it feeling like forces are aligned against that.

    Everything still under warranty? Unfortunately you're probably going to have to ride them to get it fixed. Somethings malfunctioning for sure ---for comparison i have 29 panels and generating about 50kWh on max August days.

    Will generate about 37% more power from our rooftop solar panels this August over last. July was up 30% YOY. I'm never a fan of summer weather but all the sunshine has some practical benefits. Still .. this is banter right? Bring on winter.

    Funny how different these same temps feel in September as we trend down instead of up. Six months to go..

    Temp down 8 degrees in last 30 mins in Wading River from 46 to 38. Wont do much out here but nice to see the cold working in.

    Moderate snow now, 34f Wading river. Solid coating now. Starting to stick on my neighborhood road.

    Too early to rate the season. Going back 50 years at BNL there were eight years prior to this one with 20 or more inches in January - all eight of those ended with 50"+ (most were 60"+). Hopefully that is an indicator we've got more to come...

    Funny how our boom or bust snowfall seems to play out. 3rd snowiest month ever recorded at Islip yet we had what - just five or six days with snow cover? And we spent most of the month talking about how the favorable pattern wasn’t working out.

    We get plenty of cold rain in November and December.

    Almost tough to reconcile how cold it’s felt this January with the fact it’s only 3.5 degrees below the new average. Maybe we’re all getting soft lol. Perfect winter morning out there - bright Sun on fresh snow, 13f in Wading River.

    Light snow in Wading River, temp has dropped to 14F --- was 29F at midnight. That would have been the story - although i'm glad we got the snow to go with it.

    Best rates of the daylight hours over the last hour or so here. We're around 16" now, temp down to 20F. Enjoying a daytime storm for a change...

    Wm floyd was a good forecast but always impossible to pinpoint these bands ahead of time. I’m about 2 miles east of wm floyd on north shore - best rates stayed to my east so far. Great storm, probably these cold snowstorms are the best.

    Tough to measure but 9” or so seems right. 24f in wading river. Waiting for that band over riverhead to push a little further west!
