  1. Solid coating on grass in Wading River. Just missed snow on snow - last of the backyard snow disappeared yesterday.
  2. Wading River, LI. B+ seems right. Nothing wrong with that, just not quite top tier for snowfall or cold.
  3. 5 straight months (Dec - Apr) with 10"+ where I was living in Port Jeff, plus some snow in Nov. We may beat the season's snow total someday, but not sure we'll ever see 6 months with snow on LI.
  4. 2.25” new in wading river. Pretty epic scenery outside for our area. Glad we can still do it.
  5. Agreed - think we’ll push over 24”
  6. Winds starting to really howl, 31f, Mod snow and 7" pasted on everything
  7. 6.25” in wading river. Just did first round of driveway, pretty heavy, dense snow. A lot of snowmen will be born tomorrow.
  8. First flurries in wading river, 34f.
  9. Amazing how the last few years made us think stretches like this might be a thing of the past.
  10. 11” in Wading River - still accumulating. Great day.
  11. First pingers in Wading River, temp up to 20f
  12. Think they’ve done a great job based on how this looks right now in Suffolk
  13. 1.5" Wading River / 14F, rates havent been particularly impressive here but great to see it accumulate right on top of the salted roads anyway
  14. Ground coated in Wading River, light snow, 12f.
  15. This is a really notable difference -- regardless of snow totals each year, days with snowcover continue to take a hit. And not just here.
  16. Agreed - 1/3rd of the winters since 2000 out here (using BNL data) have seen more snow in March than February. I'd prefer it in January when its more likely to stick around but March can still be productive for seasonal totals.
  17. Its been frustrating. At least there has been snow nearby. My place in the southern adirondacks is up to 100" and there is much more northwest and northeast of there. I know some people are sick of the cold/wind but we've had too many winters with seemingly endless 50 degree stretches - I'd take this year over any of those.
  18. Despite the snowfall frustrations here on the coast, at least this winter showed we can still get three consecutive below normal (with all caveats) winter months. I would have bet aginst that prior to this winter for sure.
  19. Traveling for work to Pontiac, MI - can't even luck into snow here -- looks the same as Long Island
  20. Hope that doesnt greenlight another dumping of road salt
  21. It’s absurd. Someone that works at my town’s Highway department was recently telling me about the large number of calls they get requesting road treatment in advance of every forecasted snowfall. They are in a no-win situation.
