    This is a really notable difference -- regardless of snow totals each year, days with snowcover continue to take a hit. And not just here.

    Agreed - 1/3rd of the winters since 2000 out here (using BNL data) have seen more snow in March than February. I'd prefer it in January when its more likely to stick around but March can still be productive for seasonal totals.

    Its been frustrating. At least there has been snow nearby. My place in the southern adirondacks is up to 100" and there is much more northwest and northeast of there. I know some people are sick of the cold/wind but we've had too many winters with seemingly endless 50 degree stretches - I'd take this year over any of those.

    Despite the snowfall frustrations here on the coast, at least this winter showed we can still get three consecutive below normal (with all caveats) winter months. I would have bet aginst that prior to this winter for sure.

    It’s absurd. Someone that works at my town’s Highway department was recently telling me about the large number of calls they get requesting road treatment in advance of every forecasted snowfall. They are in a no-win situation.

    You're doing really well --- only about 1/2" here to your east. Havent had the grass fully covered yet this year - if we get there by the time this ends I'll take it as a win!

    Rain has mostly changed to snow now in Wading River - recent HRRR runs showed this timing pretty well.

    Cloudy, 38F in Wading River. That .25" last night really muddied up the ground here --- too bad in the midst of a cold month we couldnt go back to back snow events

    That 18z GFS solution would be great - nice moderate snowfall followed by cold weather and probably very minimal melting.
