  2. Had a decent downpour here. Didn't last long but it delivered a quick quarter of an inch of rain. The soil was very dry, so I'm glad we got a watering. Had a high temp of 80. Looking for 87 or 88 tomorrow. We might get another little downpour with the backdoor cold front during the afternoon.
  3. High for the day was 82 here. Picked up 0.22" of rain for the day. Current temp 67
  4. High for the day was 82 here. Picked up 0.22" of rain for the day. Current temp 67
  5. Looks like another round of heavier showers moving through
  6. Today
  7. ORD is currently running a +2.4 departure and will likely finish around +3, good enough for a top 15 warmest April on record. That's a bit more than just "slightly above" imo.
  8. I think you’re gonna have more overnight wake ups in May now that we’re getting into peak MCS month (and especially coming out of a fairly strong EN winter). Anyone can see those multi-global model consensus thunder probability maps completely free & easily on https://weather.us I just post those on here to be informative CRP 0z observed sounding this evening showing pretty favorable convective environment over STX (more typical now getting into May). Just of course, lacking the necessary lift off to the north/east and doesn’t look like anything till sometime tomorrow/Tuesday. That shouldn’t be a problem in Houston area tonight (but could be on west end of it). Should be a pretty good thunder show there overnight as that MCS in East TX is taking its time propagating south this evening (could be higher end flood threat that region next several hours). WPC highlighting flooding likely in MCD for that region this evening. Also seeing a really good amount of positive CGs just like in the QLCS that moved through northern half of state last night.
  9. isn't that slightly above normal for Chicago area?
  10. First, I prefer a warm spring.Second, I do believe up until several years ago the largest accumulating snow in Chicago was April 14,1961. Not sure exact, but I do believe that has been surpassed twice in the last decade. All that said, if I can get it even to me more like Knoxville around here I'm all for it in my time.
  11. Williamsport at 10:23p has cooled down from 78 earlier to 63. Tomorrow should be record breaking 86/62. .11 of the thunderstorms and rain on Tuesday is now supposed to come around my 2:15 dental appointment. Fingers crossed I don't end up in a downpour.
  12. JB has moved past what turned out to be his latest missed call and is talking about a pattern similar to 1966 and 1977 for the second week of May.
  13. Not sure about seasonal anomalies and stats- I go more by what I see. First cut of the lawn was mid April which was about normal. Had to cover the hostas and up coming plants last week due to potential freeze which is typical. Would not be surprised to see another before were clear for the season-hoping not as I would prefer the warmth but I know how things roll around here. No question it was a non winter.
  14. Yeah it definitely felt like a sauna lol, and then it just gets stuck inside the house even when you open the windows.
  15. Same meal same feeling pizano
  16. Oh man I know the feeling...cooking Sunday dinner tonight was brutal....dews in my kitchen must've reached 80+ from all the pasta I was cooking haha
  17. I know! I liked it much better with clear blue skies and low humidity lol. Although it's Sunday and I was cooking food for the entire week today so the whole house got hot from that.
  18. If you're saying yuck with dews in the mid 50s...you have a very long summer ahead of you my friend Though right now it's actually humid with ewr reporting a dew at 64. Yeah we have a long summer ahead of us haha
  19. Nice sprinkles for the plants
  20. Has anyone seen (or heard lol) any of these 17yr cicadas that are supposed to be out by now? Only thing I've heard so far is the buzzing of mosquitoes.
  21. Speaking of JB, we just made it through his latest forecast period of “major cold.” The NYC temperature anomaly for April 25-28 was 1.3 degrees below normal. That was the 98th coldest April 25-28 period on record. Records go back to 1869.
  22. It changed to rain for us, I still look at January 2016 as the peak of our winter storms.
