ICON is a legitimate disaster for ice and sleet accumulations across the Carolinas and deep south. Wow.

ON Jan 18, 1982 it was -34 at our back settlement home in Fort Kent, accompanied by gusts 35+ and 2-mile vis. in teeny-grain SN. Old WCI chart showed -101 that morning, new chart about -70. Got up to -14 that afternoon. -

90% of the time, Wake is a battle zone. Geographically it's just the way it works, due to position in the state, distance from Apps, and the north/south length of the county. Very very very rare for the entire county to get the same thing. Down here in southern wake i'd be happy with 1-2 inches of snow.

I agree that significant overrunning likely doesn't make it that far north.. but I disagree that you can't get significant snow from this whole setup, the trends at 500 suggest that we can get an actual coastal after the overrunning, still plenty of time for trends and change, the results early this 12z run continue to show opportunity for more phasing.. -
Someone needs to change the date on the thread title. This is morphing into a delayed but not denied system. 25-26. Could even extend to 27th.

Yeah, moved here in September of last year. Was in Nebraska for 2 years, and then before that, I was in Texas for 3 years. Moved to Nebraska in 2023 to marry the woman I have been best friends with for 20+ years. Since I am in the Ohio Valley, and with the upcoming storm, I figured I would jump back on the site here, and see what is going on. Good to see all of the familiar names are still around. -

Still seemingly a lot of possibilities on the table. The Euro and Canadian are pretty good hits for Southern Missouri, while the GFS is still pretty much nothing up this way. They all 3 have different possible outcomes on the table, still a lot to figure out with this one. -
