  2. 2021 and 2023 were warm in October and cool in November before torching in December. Then again, those were -QBO years, with 2021 being a la nina. 2023 was a strong nino. If I remember correctly, 2015 had a very warm late August and September. October was the odd cool month in the bunch.
  3. Currently 81° with a 67° DP…summers revenge .

  5. Yeah whenever I left Asheville this morning it was 54 degrees there. A big difference but Asheville sucks. Sorry guys lol.
  6. Every day that I don't have to burn $6/gal oil is a win.
  7. How can one not have faith and trust a snowy forecast from someone named SnowbirdBob?!!
  8. ...only idiots want to experience a repeat of 38. I'd like to know how many people here have taken the time to read the fine print in their homeowners insurance policy. I guarantee most people here have done little in the way of preparation for a storm of that magnitude. ..the butter knives in the draw are sure going to scare off looters..lol...perhaps they can toss some acorns at them to scare them off..

  11. Days in the 70's are common for mid October..Now if it's like this in late November, that would suck
  12. A good indication will be late October and early November, that's when the torch began leading to that insane Decmber month..Lets see if we see that in a few weeks
  13. I'm sure they'll be winter weather sometime between late November and late March. Just expect much of the winter to have temps above normal. Probably lots of rain.
  14. Nowhere in that post did I say as warm as 2015, I said “the strongest warm December signal since 2015”
  15. Yeah, there are years when you just sniff out a warm December. 2015, 2021, and 2023 were pretty obvious. The Weather Channel had these predicted months in advance. This year looks like that way as well. 2026 would make it the 4 warmest Decembers ever in 12 years.
  16. A +12 month with Christmas Day at 70..I doubt we see that but who knows?
  17. Definitely a bit of inversion. My low was 49 this morning. The hay field below the house got cut yesterday afternoon for the final time this year. Frost and possibly freezing temperatures are forecast for Saturday and Sunday mornings here in the Valley.
  18. it's interesting some of the road names here, Lakeview and Soundview-everyone says you can't see the water....but then someone mentions that when the area was settled in the 40's there was a clear view b/c alot of the trees were felled by 1938....just could not imagine the destruction here today with all the development and tree canopy.
  19. and, if you have a private well, good luck flushing your toilet
  20. lol at wall street journal opinion articles; everyone has opinions, but just because someone typed their opinion, and you believe it, does not make it true here are some facts: link and link and if you want to look at "actual" numbers, you need to include operating costs including fuel inputs over the life of the facility, not just cost to build; and for nuclear, you need to include the cost of long term storage and disposal of radioactive components from the plant operations if you want try again and this time include operational costs to support your opinion, please do so
  21. Tide is extra high today, at least on the Sound. Enough for splash over onto waterfront parks and sidewalks
  22. Today
  23. Not sure who would pay any attention to this type of thing no matter who issued it. At best it is clickbait and at worst it is a steaming pile of ....
