McLean, VA Winter Rating: B- Reasoning: ~18" of snow is still just below my average of 20". The snow/sleetfall from late-January stayed for a long, long time due to the severe cold in late-Jan to early-Feb, really helping this winter's case. There were lots of late nights just to see potential wasted for my area.

I'm with you on this one. Truly what I adore are those June (they cut off lows in the love June for some reason) backdoor cold fronts with a cut off lower where it's drizzling, 60, with a stiff east wind for a few days. Bonus points if it saves us from baking like our friends accross the mountains to the west. I remember once we sat between 56-63 for 3 days while Pittsburgh was in low 90s. It's not over yet but currently A- Snow: B: 85, Right near my average of 48-49", I don't give A's unless I go a decent bit above average. Retention: A+:98 Best snow coverage in years Cold: A: 95 Great consistent cold, although I've had years with better arctic outbreaks. Big Events: B: 85. Late January's 17" was the biggie here; I got hosed in the blizzard Current Grade A- 90.75 Subject to final review and revision.

Tomorrow night is going to be warm, that will really put a dent in it.

This was only about 15 miles south of me and have seen some video from friends and the like, just not good at all. Many missing/unaccounted for, at least 5 confirmed fatalities and just by looking at the video and damage, I would be willing to bet this is a historical Michigan tornado in the EF-3 range. Truly remarkable but horrific at the same time.

Our dog is able to stand on our pack without breaking through. The past 2 events have solidified it pretty well. But it will still lose a ton by Wednesday night
