  1. Past hour
  2. My day is going to surprise a lot of folks outside the hills
  3. 22.9/5, I find it hard to believe I get to 40 on Sunday as forecasted.
  4. Basically, Euro folds to the GFS then the GFS folds to what the Euro or the warmer models were. Lost 1-2 inches in most places from 0z-6z gfs; 6” line moved NW. Lost 5” IMBY.
  5. With remote learning the old snow days may be a thing of the past. I stopped paying attention when my youngest graduated in 2020 and I retired. Now I follow storms mostly because there ain’t much to do in winter. 2 hours ago I thought we were back on track now the gfs is showing a lot of sleet, which for the record I still think is the outcome down here; single digits and lots of sleet. By here I mean just west of the city.
  6. a bit off topic but might have to watch late Thursday also
  7. The GFS did bump north with it but not like the mesos
  8. Central Park 10.2 actual 8.5 measured Boston 15.8 Philadelphia 7.4 WDC 6.1 Hartford 16.3 Albany 14.6 Highland Mills NY 17.2
  9. Morning starting off nicely. Subtle shifts in favorable directions. 6z suite is just fine. and yeah GFS came off its high horse, but is still looking just fine. goalposts narrow....and were nicely placed within.
  10. That isn't ice accumulation. That's sleet that falls, so half an inch of sleet roughly which would be about 0.15 liquid.
  11. Already got over 3" here in Fayetteville. Snow is a very fine powder coming down.
  12. That high being a bully is our friend Sent from my SM-X210 using Tapatalk
  13. A little worried about the sleet on the mesos now for those of us south and east of 95. NAM 3K and RRFS A look very sleety, HRRR is a bit better. Globals think differently or aren't picking it up...
  14. WWA issued locally for 4-7”. Tough forecast on the northern fringes, as alluded to in the LOT AFD. Lake influence will make it increasingly difficult to nail down.
  15. There's going to be a insane band somewhere in SNE to southern VT/NH
  16. The 6z suite quite frankly was a disaster for the sub forum. RRFS was its worst run yet. GFS was warmer, drier, and NW. Don’t want to give off panic, but I don’t like these trends after the best euro run yet.
  17. Yeah, the Rosebud bit is poetic in theory, but let's be real—by the time you're a 78-year-old superintendent, that 4 a.m. snow check is less "childlike wonder" and more "please don't make me explain another lawsuit to the board." The grounds guy says close, you close: it's not nostalgia, it's CYA (cover your ass) wrapped in boots and a flashlight. Still, in a world of endless model runs and liability spreadsheets, there's something grimly satisfying about one last decision boiled down to "looks bad out there."
