Its complex, but the simple answer is that the storm is phasing much farther west than ideal for an all snow event with no temp issues. It’s still cold though.

It's never been more difficult to be a met..for a variety of reasons. a wrong call could very well mean their livelyhood. the finest of lines to walk. So honestly i don't blame some of them for being defensive or putting out 10 different maps or waiting last minute. On top of this storm just being extremely difficult to nail down. local mets need a win. A storm where they say its gonna snow 10 inches and it snows 10 inches.

They are smart to hold the line. Peeps know its coming, and if they need to tweak tomorrow night...so be it, but no matter what the tweak is, this isnt going from something to nothing....its just going to be a different big headache (and possibly more substantial if we taint a lot. In the end, its gonna be travel challenges, and possibly more notable w/ pingerfest vs big ass drifts. pick your travel poison.
