  1. Past hour
  2. Well, I guess I’ll stay up another half hour to see how this line plays out.
  3. My PWS at home registered a high of 101.2 F today. When I left work at 5:30, my sun-baked car thermometer parked on blacktop registered 105 F. When I parked in the full shade at church this evening, I remained in the car for about ten minutes until 6:00. The car thermometer held firm at 99F, all that time, in full shade.
  4. Point and click never has me getting over 98. Newark will see over 100 but this won’t be historic in my opinion. It’s not dry enough of a heat wave to get to 105
  5. The HRRR and RRFS last night/this morning were terrible. 00, 06, and 12z did not have the earlier nasty BTV storm and the complex in western MA now. Oh crap...latest radar. Scott going to have timbers falling down all around him later in Winni?
  6. A sweltering summer night seemed like a good time for a comparison pic. July 1/January 25
  7. What a win!! And such a fucking bogus red card. How do you go from not even a foul to a red card from VAR? Watching the whole play, what do you expect Balogun to do there? We got this though, others will step up on Monday!
  8. Got to 99.9* on the PWS here. Currently 82/72 @1030pm ugh
  9. 89 for the high today. Currently 76. Wasn’t really uncomfortable at any point. Was a nice breeze all day
  10. A co-worker of mine lives in Pasadena MD. Over 20 years at this location w/ detailed daily obs, and he notes his dew point hits 80 often every summer due to the proximity of the bay. Does not matter if it is a near normal high temp for the day or a big heatwave.
  11. The "NITE" is still young... Scott looking forward to "heat lightning," which he still think is a thing! LOL.
  12. Still a very hot 93 degrees at Newark. Incredible how the heat can just linger in that area.
  13. Impressive win! Go USMNT! gonna be tough without Balogun next game…
  14. Yeah wasn’t bad just N in East Meadow for Little League baseball. Breeze helped this evening. One win away from winning the district & advancing to sectionals.
  15. At Massapequa Park tonight for fireworks, you would never know there was a heatwave, very comfortable night.
  16. Max 93 here today. DP 81. Both pretty typical for AACo.
  17. I smell derecho! Of note, the definition of derecho was modified last year and it's requirements are more specific and somewhat more restrictive. WxWiz and CoastalWx were proby not aware! https://journals.ametsoc.org/view/journals/bams/106/1/BAMS-D-24-0015.1.xml
