I just re-read this. A 20-40% chance of heavy snow which starts inside 7 days from now already. Oh boy. -

"Don’t do it" 2026 Blizzard obs, updates and pictures.

A few photos of my effort to dig paths - had to squeeze out the side door and attack my front door from the outside, seeing as there was no way of opening it. No way am I ever seeing 38 inches again in RI, or anywhere as the only place I plan to move is to a warmer climate upon retirement! -

See. You guys think you know me. You don't. I have Zero Complaints about 2014-2015 even though Boston had a Snow Depth of 45" while I had a max of 31". I would give almost Anything for 2014-2015 again. And only 1 of the 4 Storms gave me 24" where some people got almost 3 of the 4 to give 24". Also I flew home and changed LA plans for the Blizzard of 2015..... and it was worth Any Penny. You guys just Continue, CONTINUE to Not understand the screwing I've been getting here for 7 winters, and especially this winter. With what I've sacrificed over the years to chase These Rare Blizzards, I'm about to give up the Love and the Hobby. This one has Completely Gutted me. Once in a 200 year storm for RI, and I was 10 miles too far North and got Half, HALF of what they did. -

My family lives in Bridgewater, multiple houses, all saying 40 is likely. Official measurement was too difficult, just going off the “I shoveled what I measured to be a foot, three times” science. -
Late February/Early March 2026 Mid-Long Range

Idk about the rest, but certainly most. But cold is usually an issue with ninos and in our current state that spells trouble. -
Congrats Erie

Yeah in Summit we got hit hard. I have had enough of winter. Usually we get snow and cold like this twice a winter here in NE Ohio, and this year it has been almost every week.

Just in time for April

I believe it. Southeast mass just been getting brutalized by this storm.

Did a Fun Interview with Weather Coop Today during the storm which kept the Epic Screwing fun. We Did go over that I started the Thread on here so You Guys who Got it Good should be Thankful! I’m 2/2 on Monster Hours with my last 2 Thread Starts! -
Just saw that Fall River, MA got 41” ?! Wow

When I lived in Austin it was the rain jackpot. May 2015 was the most rain I’ve ever seen in a 30 day period in my life. October 2015 from the Patricia remnants most I saw in a day. And the severe weather was bad. I was in Austin on Memorial Day weekend and JUST missed a massive hailstorm that hit the east side of town-2 foot hail drifts. I flew out 3 hours before it hit.

I was on facetime with a friend of mine who lives there and I was like telling her bro that’s easily 3ft of snow lol -
Thats what I meant! Hopefully it’s *not* east based. Thanks for the correction sir
-
Yep. I’ll set my alarm for it. Seriously, missing this sucked but 17” IMBY isn’t historic. That’s about what I got on 2/1/21, another storm where I did well but not the jackpot.
-
East based isn’t always great for us. We’d prefer modoki or central basin
-
Post storm depression day. Anyone else get it? The rush of NAM dopamine shots 4 times a day for 2-3 days. Storm ends. Tired from lack of sleep, shoveling. Spring is soon. It goes away pretty fast, but I always get this same feeling the day after a big event.

That’s because we oversimplify everything to Niña versus niño. Strength and location matter. As do other factors like the PDO. Idk why some folks think every niño is an auto W and every Niña is a ratter. We’ve had great and horrific winters in both ENSO states. Early indications are that next year will likely be a niño. Hopefully it’s not east based. Otherwise it could be another downer season. Niño is def preferred over Niña historically, but it’s no guarantee

High of 48, low of 31. Cold breeze today.
