Tomorrow morning is going to feel amazing here in GSO. Fortunately I have a few days off to begin fall prep. I think we are all at the point where just a whiff of fall air is enough to tie us over into October. I like this idea being kicked around from prior Nino years of a fast pattern flip. I could live with that. But not at the expense of losing fall weather. My biggest fear is going from 80s to 40s overnight.

Western Albemarle streams are super low as well , despite substantial more rainfall east of the mountains.. I think that the spine of the Blue Ridge from 33 down to the Tye River headwaters in Nelson have been missing the consistent rain as well - that's been just a few miles to the east... John what do you think about AI replacing climate change as an extinction level threat? All the big AI execs have said it's very likely that AI advances will mean the end of humanity within a decade. That's why I laugh at these projections for 2050 and 2100. When very likely humanity won't even be around that long. And if we are around we either won't be living on this planet or we will have geo engineered it into unrecognizability. We will be living in climate controlled domes it will rain if and when we want it or need it to and the temperatures will be strictly controlled. We are already conducting cloud seeding on a historic scale with RAIN MAKER and spraying particles into the upper atmosphere to reduce incoming solar radiation is on the way. We'll probably ship off some of thid extra water and water vspor via space elevators to Mars and space colonies to control sea level rise and reduce the strongest greenhouse gas we have. Water vapor! We'll go from 70 percent water to 50 percent water.

Either way you can see from the sheer number of records set in that historic heatwave that was a heatwave of unparalleled proportions the kind of long duration heat wave we simply do not see anymore. The last time we had a something like that was in 1993. What other records can you find from that historical heatwave? Im shocked that Mount Pocono got into the mid 90s as early as late May and as late as mid August, was that entire summer just one long massive heatwave? Also both Newark and Boston set records, why didn't Central Park? About elevation, the Poconos are a Plateau not a mountain range so I can't see its elevation being much less. I actually developed something called relative temperature as an analog to relative temperature to convert temperature to sea level. 103 would be around 114 at sea level. I'm perfectly fine with accepting that because I know climate change is nuanced especially in the East. Our heatwaves have become shorter and we have less extremely high record temperatures. The average temperature rise is mostly driven by higher minimum temperatures, not higher maximums. I've had my heat running for about a month already and it's not a pleasant feeling. I would have thought climate change would have occurred faster but here we are. Most people enjoy heat much more than cold so we dont see climate change as an altogether bad thing the way we view tobacco causing cancer. Obviously it's not a good thing but there are some positives to it like not spending a thousand plus on heating every month in the winter when it impacts us the most and not having to use the heat in the summer which I had to use starting in August.
