At least the clouds will slow the melting.

Not you brother. I know you appreciate it. It's the trolls living in basements The Charlie Browns.

You’re not even using it to its full capabilities! At least put up the Kuchera and give yourself an extra 0.1”

12z EPS also made a shift to the slightly more interesting scenario.

WxBell (Bastardi) also predicted a BN E US in Jan.

Good afternoon everyone. We wanted to let everyone know that the streak of consecutive days of 32 or lower has ended at Central Park at 9 days. The temperature at 1:27 pm reached 33 degrees. The last time there were more than 9 consecutive days of 32 or lower at Central Park was in 2018, which was a 14 day streak that ended on January 8.

It got slightly more juiced synoptically but the WINDEX aspect of it really ramped up. We got those crazy intense squalls that gave a lot of people 2”+ just from the squalls.

35 / 11 here
-
I enjoy every minute of it, but who doesn't want some more, especially with this cold around and the relaxation approaching.

I haven't posted on the forum in years, but this felt like the right time to join the cliff diving thread. This snowstorm has me thinking we live in a simulation. I measured 1.5" at my house. WRAL actually used a picture from my neighborhood in their story discussing what caused the snow hole. Take a look at this snow totals map, and it's pretty easy to guess where my house is.

35 here now -- feels warm after what we've been through.

First time driving since my knee replacement on the 13th. Totally impressed by the piles and more impressive are the icicles on the old homes. 31⁰ here first day of some melting. But what a gorgeous landscape. Some of us can enjoy the gift of nature while others grouse about needing more. Says alot

Isn’t that what happened on the NYE event as we got closer? -
I thought these streaks were temps at or below 32F, so streak wouldn't be over yet. Not that it really matters. If we get 2 days this week of 33 and 34 F and it then stays below 32F thru 2/10, that's still 18 days straight below 34F, which is still way below normal and just as impressive as the record of 16 days at or below 32F.

February 2026 Medium/ Long Range Discussion: Buckle Up!
Heisy replied to Weather Will's topic in Mid Atlantic
Sudden stratospheric warming coincides with above average temp periods for us so it makes sense. Statistically there is about a 70% chance we get normal or below normal temps in a few weeks (if the SSW happens) so hang in there -

Euro doubled down on cold shot this weekend with Monday now staying bitter. A 3 day blast -
All Of us should see some snow showers but if we can get a little bit of moisture influx from the south as it hits the Atlantic, that could help with more widespread accumulations. We’d want that whole system to dig a bit more.

Its a weak ass pos jackpot.
