You can ask the club to do a reroute on the property to give yourself more privacy if that is a concern, The clubs will always adhere to the landowners request, , Its tough to say on the usage activity on the trail depending on where it goes plus if there is snow or not to use it, These trails are generally closed during the summer unless something was worked out with an ATV club but most snowmobile clubs don't allow ATV use on there trails, You may want to get in contact with the local club and let them know your concerns.

So a question I have for you. In winters past where we had a great stretch of snow storms and a pattern that produced.... If you look back about 2 or 3 weeks prior to that happening, did anyone know 100% that there was going to be this blitz of Snow happening or were we just getting mixed signals in the models? I'm just curious.

Hopefully some cirrus for Punx Phil at 624hr to prevent any shadows.

Oh I am actually good....this is the first winter in 5 years that has actually felt like winter, so if it ended today, I would be just fine. And 40 degrees and a bit of sun felt great today, I definitely won't complain when it snows again, but the tenure of this season has definitely been better than recent years, at least around here.

Don’t forget that we have a bonus of 0.35C or so to play with with the all important RONI currently being 0.35 colder. So, IF this were to reach +1.30 in Sept, the RONI equiv. would be only about +0.95 leaning just over 1C room to spare before reaching super territory on that basis.

Has that feeling....I'm sure it will snow again, but man it has that feeling of "what could have been" badly timed phases that result in not much of anything for SNE. We shall see, either the models have gotten better at not showing storms in the long range or we are going to be having near misses for the next 6 weeks, before the car's interior starts roasting in the mid day sun....

Slightly reassuring to see the 18z suite of ensembles hold or beef up snowfall.

The AI models and the Euro AI ensemble look wintery over the next 15 days. Y'all need to start weaening yourselves off the buggy whip models.

One more thing, in Vermont, you can request the trail be curfewed and have it posted for speed.

The first thing is that we always defer to the landowner. You can definitely ask the club to move it to a different location on your land. The would much prefer that than having to completely re-route around your property. Re-routes can be expensive and difficult but it happens all the time. Talk to the club and see if you can find something that works better for you. In the end, you have every right to not have the trail on your property but that doesn’t always make you friends locally.

Here are the work ups I did a couple years ago comparing urban and suburb/rural updated to 2025. BTW, added extra years to CHI from wx data that is raw (1830-1872). It hasn't been through re-analysis like the early data for MSP (1820-1872). But thought it would be cool to see how it looks when graphed. IND & DET below as well.

Early data in for Dec. Little cooler this year akin to 2017. Annual is on the warmer side, but less so than the last 2 years. 5 & 10 yr tend charts shown respectively. BTW, have more data back to 1781. Just a reminder, pre-1850 is slim on data, so take it with a grain of salt. Trends are probably in the ballpark (as you will see in the next post), but individual years may be changed a lot when more data becomes available in the coming years (hopefully).
