I’m just expecting rain here…think we just won’t cool enough. But who knows?
-
Wonder if the same setup today would yield better forecasts for areas further south that literally saw almost nothing.
-
Temp approached 42 here but is back down to 39.8
-
Wasn't this event supposed to be in the 45-55 degree range earlier in the week? If so its cooled off considerably, probably not enough but still showing a sign of life to this winter.
-
GFS gives us transient cold for a couple of days, no frozen precipitation threats, and looks to pop a ridge around 3/20. [emoji120] [emoji120] [emoji120]

39.3

I'll be using that and the HRRR/NAM soundings to try and figure that out. This morning in Ablemarle the saturated layer looked to end around 950mb so I would think 2000ft is enough.
-
It’s warm everywhere now It’s not really about that. It’s the dews. Worrying if we advect Enough for cooling
-
What’s your temp now? Was just out at lunch..and truck was reading 36-37 here.

We have a pellet stove. The first two Winters we tried to use it season long to supplement the gas heat. We found it saves absolutely no money, and actually cost more. What it is good for is marginal days when we can shut off the gas and just keep the first floor living room area warm. It saves a lot in the in between seasons. I just picked up another half ton a couple days ago

Tech gave us advanced drones. Drone defense systems are way behind.

It was a week a a half ago, actually! 84 today. -

That’s my issue with this event in CT. Lotta warmth to overcome.

I usually keep a tank of oil and just use my wood stove for the winter, but just used up my stack of wood today....I have a local guy delivering a half cord, hopefully to get me through the rest of March, assuming his claim that it has been seasoned for at least a year is correct. Otherwise I will be tapping into my oil reserves, lol

Volume 1 of Early American Winters is a must read for that time period.
-
Such a skunked airmass initially. Got up to run and it was 40 degrees at 4:45.. first run since early Jan with no hat ..while everyone else was in the 20’s. Got home and it had warmed to 42.3
-
I'd love a repeat of that in the valley, winter of 1717
-
You would have linked that if it did
-
I understand. I just don't see how they sustain the situation that's causing this. Not trying to be political, and somewhat parroting a couple neighbors who are very "in the know" Lets hope! They're thinking a month or two +/-

Planning ahead will definitely be important with the crowds and unpredictable weather expected during World Cup travel in Boston. Many travellers forget how much storms or heavy rain can slow airport and city traffic. I recently read some interesting insights in this Boston World Cup 2026 travel transportation overview which explains how advance scheduling and experienced chauffeurs can help maintain reliable arrival times even during busy events.

Would be nice to agree, but oil prices are spiking to near $80 per barrel as we speak, short term might be 6 months at this rate. I don't see how they don't keep rising
