  1. Past hour
  2. Sun popped (kinda) and the temperature with it. First time in days.
  3. The best one was the B-1, B-2, B-52 flying over escorted by a couple F-35. Now that's an expensive formation. Went right over my house, dog wasn't impressed.
  4. Two-plus years of eliminating funding, closing offices and firing experts has consequences.
  5. Was in northern Europe this weekend and had one of the most powerful storms I have seen in a while. It was equivalent to our Nor'easter. Barometric pressure below 29.00 inches and heavy rain with wind gusts between 40 and 70mph for hours. Numerous trees and branches down and numerous power outages.
  6. Looks like it just brushed by. Better than nothing i guess.

  9. Thanks for posting these. I see these are based on just one run, 8/22/26 at 0Z, as opposed to being based on a mean of multiple runs. To compare, the 3 day/12 run means on Tropical Tidbits and even the 10 day/40 run means directly from the CFSv2 are of limited value, especially considering how jumpy they often are from one run to the next due to essentially no forecasting value that far out. So, this X-post being based on just one run is essentially of no value and was likely chosen due to how cold it is late in the winter. For example, here are the last two single runs from WxBell for Feb ‘27: 6Z 8/23/26: cold in E, warm in W 0Z 8/23/26: not surprisingly nearly the exact opposite! Here’s that x-post’s Feb. ‘27 map again: To help emphasize how laughably frigid this post’s Feb CFSv2 map is in the E US, check out how much colder it is vs the record coldest (in degrees F): -DC ~20 vs coldest 24.6 (1934) -Richmond ~22 vs coldest 28.2 (1934) -Chattanooga ~19 vs coldest 33.8 (1958) -Atlanta ~25F vs coldest 34.4 (1895) Cities’ coldest from here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/climate @Terpeast

  11. I’ve been wondering that for years. I think super Ninos usually tend to become basin wide.
  12. Probably flyover for the American 250 F1/Grand Prix race thing in DC today
  13. I saw something fly over my house about 40 minutes ago. Very loud. By the time I got outside to look a large plane was headed east, but the sun prevented a good view. Was not a jet liner. And the noise could've been multiple jets, fighters being too small to see in that sun glare.
  14. I am getting concerned with fungus on the blooming buds on my weed crop. Found a strain that relieves my polyneuropathy from amyloidosis. Need a sunny dry month
  15. Not sure what’s up but 4 fighter jets escorting a big plane
