Central PA Summer 2026 Discussion/Obs Thread
Mount Joy Snowman replied to Voyager's topic in Upstate New York/Pennsylvania
I got 6.13" in July but 3.43" of that was on a single day, that being July 5. I only received 1.46" in June though. -

The line is about to go through. Let’s get to over 3.00” on the day. -
I asked a friend to go harvest while I’m gone and she sent this pic. Obviously, peppers and basil are doing well, but tomatoes are always late for me and just coming on.

Congrats. Looks like you already have your fastball ready for winter 27/28 -
The line of heavy showers quickly moved through. It is still raining lightly. About .30" About the same amount earlier. It helps but we need much more. I uploaded this picture but it seems slightly under exposed. The line looked menicing but I don't think the underbelly of line was quite this dark.

surgically steined. 0.09" -
Then again, I’m sitting in a square in Granada, Spain, just after sunset sipping a cerveza, so I don’t really give a sh$t.

2.13" yesterday at the closest CoCoRaHs. We've missed out quite a bit recently, so that was a very welcome win. Nice little downpour, as well, with that line a couple hours ago.

Damn...just realized that I hadn't created this thread like I normally do from year to year. Garden is OK this year. L:eafy vegetables and herbs are doing great and my jalapenos are killer. Tomatoes are less than good. I got them started late and planted them a little later than ideal when they were smaller than I would normally plant them. I'm also noticeably not getting quite as much sun as in years past with neighbors' trees growing really tall and wide at this point, so that certainly can't help.

Get them both out of here. The good news is that next year while MLB sits out the season, our prospects get another year to develop. The better news is that wherever Adley ends up, he gets a year older sitting out.

2026-2027 Super El Nino
LakePaste25 replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Weather Forecasting and Discussion
I can’t get over how CFS is just absolutely bonkers with how extremely east based it models the Nino. Convection/Hadley cell is so far east that the SE canada/NE US ridge backdoors itself into a -NAO. Likely overdoing it and we probably see something east of CANSIPs but west of the CFS, but it’s interesting to see the patterns that it is spitting out. Very possible this ends up being the most east-based El Niño in observed history. -
Wow, and I thought that it was dry'ish up here... I am at 9.19" YTD. Even then, I know that the big snow dump we had in May overwhelmed my Davis' precipitation hopper as the total from that event came in pretty light. I think perhaps around 10" YTD is more accurate.

Sounds like the Os got a haul for Adley. 4 of the Sox top 20 prospects and much needed pitching talent for the system.

Just incredible rainfall in this line. Probably picked up a half inch in just the past 10 minutes. -
Expand it to all PDO analogs.. +PDO is perferred Although we had record low -PDO in the Summer/Fall the last 2 years, and ended up having a cold Winter both times.

Line of showers/storms about to move across Newfound Lake. My webcam site should be fun to watch. https://www.bridgewaternhweather.com/

Heavy thundershower out in Croom where I was for work. Snuck up on me. When it got dark in the forest I’m glad I know to B-line it right to the truck lol.

We don’t get those in SNE anymore. -
Squall line kinda fell apart over the city and sun is breaking out now. Ended this event with 1.26"...over 2/3 of an inch less than LGA a few miles to my west. I'll take the less rain though, since we're running above normal in general for the last few weeks.

Sun trying to come out here. Hoping we can dry out rest of week and miss whatever rains are out there.
