I think a near record low snowfall season is just about baked in for next winter. I've mentioned this several times but some of our best snowfall winters are preceded by very hot and dry summers. Think 1966, 1993, 1995, 2002, 2010 and even last summer 2025. I'm thinking for NYC snowfall of less than 10 inches and an average temperature for the winter over 40 degrees. Those who like rainy summers should also like snowless winters because they go together. As far any hope is concerned the only hope is that the winter after next will be great a la 1995-96 (just on a lesser level) after 1994-95 after 1993-94 (which had similarities to last winter just on a lesser level.) The chances of a very hot and very dry summer in 2027 are very high and if that happens a snowy winter should follow in 2027-28.

Maggie Valley Steve replied to Buckethead's topic in Southeastern States
Nice cool morning in the Valley. I had a low of 61 at the house and a nice breeze out of the NW. I see Mount Mitchell had a low in the 40's. Tomorrow morning we may make a run at the upper 40's here! -

Appears drier now.

It was. A lot of good defense getting runners on the basepaths and at home. Only sour part of the night was the late drop in CF. Young had control issues, but was able to get out of some jams. I really hope they are able to get some help for Alonso next year. He is the guy you build a team around.

Never did I once say that . We had several very dry periods . Each one ends with a boring light rain event like this morning where all the heavy stuff misses -

Models have no clue with this. But good upper support and warm waters so I guess why not. -

You’ve had a better summer with storms and excitement. Pardon me if I’m bored with another light rain event . And there’s not gonna be any snow deform bands this winter lol -

Cool early fall weather up this way today. Should only see low-60's for highs with gusty north winds off Superior. Mid-30's to low 40's depending on location tonight. Some areas will likely have some patchy frost in the interior.

Of course. My whole yard is a putting green.

Yeah I battle Lisa with that. She loses her mind when it starts getting a little long, but when there’s no rain in the forecast for a week and the ground is already dry, I’m not doing it. -
