Areas that have orographic lift, you should do really well. My concerns for west of I81 in TRI are readily apparent w/ that map. MRX downgraded Bristol's and Kingsport's max to 1-3" - lower than Knoxville's. OTH, Gatlinburg has a max of 16". There are going to be some very strong gradients over TRI...potentially comparable to the storm of the late 90s.

The 18z HRRR snowfall output looks almost exactly like the Euro but with a little less in the southern valley around downtown Chattanooga.

The ratios for this could be absolutely stupid. I thought the ceiling was 20:1 but I may be wrong. It might be possible to pull off 25 or 30:1 at the peak.

HRRR showing a meager .2 of qpf IMBY but a 6.5" snow Kuchera. Hmmm. That seems off.

The gusts to 35mph wording has me curious if at some point part of the WSW is upgraded to a Blizzard Warning due to whiteout conditions. Low chance I think.

The HRRR didn’t even look like it initialized right with the current conditions. Didn’t pick up any of that snow over in Tennessee.

Honestly they both suck outside 24 hours. I would say inside 24 hours the HRRR is much better

I would have loved a blizzard this weekend as much as anyone, but I'm also looking out at epic piles and 6 inches of glacier that's only down one inch in the 6 days it's been around. That's remarkable for here. Not everyone cares about pack though, so to each their own.
