  1. Past hour
  2. I'd guess 10 inches. Hard to tell with all the drifting going on. Spots on my driveway were bare and other spots were 24+.
  3. imagine if we could throw a few more events on top for the areas that got creamed today.
  4. Does anyone have a reliable radar loop of the entire storm? I find the COD radars show differing echos for Western Long Island when using the DIX versus OKX radars. They are usually reliable but were not so accurate this morning when showing decent echos but little snow failing at those times. Would be interested in an loop of the entire NYC metro to explain the North Shore Long Island amounts being 5-10 inches lower than the rest of the Island.
  5. You sometimes get criticized for being so optimistic all the time, but your optimism certainly worked out this winter. A great job by you.
  6. well that got me just a few inches away from climo avg on 2/23, let's keep this train rolling...and to think we left a couple storms on the table, and this one could have been better if we'd gotten in on that big band, after the initial 4" last night, most of the total came from about 3am to noon, and a few of those hours was visibility in feet, I'm happy, but my back is rocking... time to chill now and await the week, see how that plays out.
  7. I was just telling my wife how I’m jealous of the event for eastern areas, but not really the aftermath. It’s gonna be a tough week for areas that got 20”-30”.
  8. Exactly This was my 6th storm this winter. 3 Winter Weather Advisories, 2 Winter Storm Warnings and 1 Blizzard Warning. Grade A winter in my book
  9. Yeah I'll take my chances with a La Nina rather than an El Nino. As I said I like that it gives us a good chance for winter to get off to an early start with cold and snow in December.
  10. WOW.. PVD broke the blizzard of 78 record huh? That's amazing.
  11. snowy december is usually a good omen too.
  12. Various pics of the storm and aftermath and one of my cat watching the snow out the window like her daddy.
  13. was half as good up here; most snow fell in the mid atlantic,
  14. I can't believe that's still in roughly the same area, crazy...nice storm, left some on the table here but if it wasn't for that band rotting over my head it would be a forgettable nuisance storm, cleaning was tough, running out of room to put the stuff around the sidewalk area, like 5/6' piles on everyone's driveway edge, so what was the max jack? I'm sure it was posted but I don't want to go through 40 pages of posts, I see a couple 30+ amounts in RI/SEMA
  15. Under that heavy band here. The snow has been unrelenting all day.
  16. Getting a decent weenie band out this way coming south from Sussex.
  17. Did we break 30" under the mega death band??
  18. I'd much rather have a +PDO than an el nino, like 2014-15. We got a lot of snow in 2009-10, but that winter was short. The spring of 2010 might be one of the most amazing pattern flips ever. It turned warm in March and got to 90 during the first week of April.
  19. MOAR SNOW coming through here at the airport, visibility has dropped again with falling snow joining the blowing snow from the ground. Just an absolute pounding: my mom informed me the all-time record where she grew up in Presque Isle, ME is 28.6 inches. Crazy to see Warwick overtake the northern frontier in any type of winter record.
  20. Even with this non-event im at 50.9" for the season. Just about at my long term average
  21. Over 40 inches for the first time in nearly 10 years. Alot of winter outlooks didn't have a good winter for our area. The disruption to the PV in November changed everything.
  22. Certainly not your run of the mill major event... Easily a Kocin storm... My daughter on the Cape has been told this will be long duration, multi-day power outage!
