latest 03 HRRR reduced precip amounts west of NYC from previous runs - parts of central NJ only get a couple tenths of an inch
-
It's not over yet
-
It was close to normal here, but it didn't seem like it. Never a good sign when your high total for the year for all of SNE is 51" in Gloucester, RI.
-
Is it worth talking about the thing that's all over social media? Six inches of rain around the 22nd from the remnants of a hurricane that only the GFS is showing.

I actually believe they'er probably having a cascading effect myself. These are some video stills from a walk back from my fishing hole a little over two weeks ago. It's not just a few trees along the enola load grade trail, there's thousands of trees covered in lantern flies, honeydew and soothy mold like this. -
This system is the equivalent of a January cartopper.

Yeah the storms are disappearing as they get to central PA as is usual for the entire year. I just expect that now with any storm system I see lol -

Spotted lanternflies are also playing a role in that too. My parents have a few trees in their front yards that these things love to swarm and feed on and its insane how much dew they deposit that ends up turning into mold and other tree infections if you don't take care of it right away. It really weakens the health of these trees to the point they'll die in a couple years eventually if there's no action taken. -
Looks like a kind of split screw setup-the heavy rain area over Central PA maybe hits the I-84 area, then NYC/LI has to see what happens with the heavy rain area further south near DC. Between those areas probably ends up with little.

This better be a good winter out at DCL. I'm gonna be chasing out there for every event. I'm not even gonna pay to get the drive up the mountain plowed so I can use snow chains instead.

WTF happened? Thought it was a sure deal and then it just got C**k-blocked as it hit the Potomac.

Absolutely. Under a flood watch here. Point and clicks have steadily raised expected rainfall. Now stand at 1.96 in. Blows. I wanted none. -
Finally decent rainfall here, picked up 0.27 between a few separate showers. 0.29” MTD
