Developing En Nino summers tend to be cooler as does summers following extremely cold winters such as this one. Think 1996, 2004, 2009 and 2014 Three of the coolest summers in our area in the last 30 years. Plus, the first half of the summer of 2015 was, in our area, one of the coolest on record. -

With ratios may end 3-6” across the region. Minimum 2-4” -

I felt like all El Nino summers here have been at best average. I just checked and since the 80s only 2002 and 2018 were above normal and that was by 0.2 and skewed mostly by August. I was surprised to see 1991 was not above normal. Its common to see places nearby like PA/OH average above though. I assume 2018 may have been an issue with coupling as we saw the ensuing winter. Makes me wonder if perhaps a sign an El Nino may not act like one in winter is a mild summer in the NE

12z NAM bufkit for BOS. 30 ub/s of omega there. Although I am curious as to why the dip in snow ratio during the height -
Your frustration is totally justified. A lot easier to be optimistic when we've already scored big time out this way. I have a feeling something funky is going to happen last week of February or first week of March and all here will be off though

Sorry this happened, and good to spread the word. Someone tried to scam the college age daughter of acquaintances of mine about a year ago. I think she was a senior or maybe just graduated. Art student. They pretended to want to commission her work/hire her. Overjoyed of course, but a scam. Pretty terrible to prey on young people's hopes and dreams.

Yep my farm in Louisburg had nearly 5” on the ground when I got up there on Monday so I am assuming they had 6-7” from the storm which obviously is a big hit around here. Here in the snow hole we had 0.4” in December, 0.7” from the sleet storm and 2.6” from last weekends storm so 3.7” on the year, which has to be the lowest or close to lowest total in the entire state. Even eyewall got warning criteria snow at his location last weekend, and I think most areas in wake had over 1” of sleet from the other storm, so I feel like I live in THE snow hole this year

Some models showing a little burst of snow from the clipper riding the arctic front Friday evening. Something to watch, but not very impactful with surface temps lagging

Yeah I hear you as unlike us you guys scored in the last big event so anything else is a bonus. 9 days to go to Valentine's Day so whatever we see now will likely not be the actual result of course. Still in the pattern recognition phase.

It doesn’t look like much but you can see a little drop in theta-e with height on some of the time-height plots. -
