Just keep the high dewpoints away. They make everything far more miserable than high heat does. -

Here is US pattern 5 months after 5-straight months of +AO (Aug-Dec) -
If you want to make a whiny ass post, have at it. But don't do it as a snarky reply to a well respected, well liked Met in our sub forum. Who the hell are you to question his assessment of the situation?

Had a trace of rain this afternoon. That was unexpected.

No YOU are something else. I picked a round figure- 100 years. Using the same graphs you always use. This is so rich coming from someone who goes into everyones subforum (where most ignore you) with the most random data for the most random starting points. You just pick based on whatever gives you what you want. One minute youll use POR the next you will decry it. I never said I threw out data, I brought up how the 1880s data seemed low at this coop station. Meanwhile, you ALWAYS have a problem with older data you dont like and are always discounting it. See, ive studied my areas climate data for years. You just plug in numbers for anything anywhere to find what you want. Since you got so offended that I questioned anything about the Ann Arbor data, you must LOVE how their winter temps have remained pretty steady for decades and snowfall has MORE THAN DOUBLED since records began. -

July will likely be the 5th straight month with +AO. How does that roll-forward, through March? Here's an animation of the next four 5-month periods.. as you can see there is a -0.3 H5 correlation over the Arctic circle, or a 57-58% chance of the +AO continuing (over the Arctic circle, north of Alaska at least). This is actually a little more +epo than +ao in technical classifications, in the roll-forward. -

Because summer is so short. It's not a matter of not liking, but just that it could be more like seasons in seasons. -
Who referenced Nao or winter? I just pointed out the current solar spike was a short term spike. No more, no less. The irresistible impulse of you and Bluewave to turn everything negative for posters who enjoy cold or snow is strange to say the least. Actually, it's likely much worse than strange.

Not a drastic drop as some promised. 86F for high and 72F for low vs 90 and 76 yesterday. Only drastic drop was the dews, 56F vs 79F -
The facts show otherwise. Numerous locations in the greater NYC region are having a top 5 summer through July 17th: Bridgeport: 4th warmest Islip: 1st warmest JFK Airport: 2nd warmest Newark: 5th warmest Moreover, Islip, JFK Airport, and Newark have all reached 100° or above this summer. The only other summers that saw such readings at all three locations were 1966, 1999, 2010, and 2011.

It's okay outside, warm/dry. hardly ideal but better than cool and cloudy. -
Lol. Looking at radar from work near CHO... My backyard got completely skipped by a near solid line that developed a hole just before getting to Waynesboro... Time to see what the 2nd line may do.. Honestly the radar dosent seem as widespread as I thought it might be..

Even worse, Lee Goldberg just stated that our summer hasn't been that hot, only very humid, and cited the *only* 7 days of 90+ at Central Park as proof.....

50s and 60s for night lows in the near future. That's more like it. -
But since the climate has changed so radically, why does it matter what it was like 100 years ago Don? An equipment relocation has been done at many first order stations. Failing that, the NWS should grab some chainsaws and do some chopping themselves, why wait for the Conservatory?

Looks like the areas between Harrisonburg and Winchester see little rain today.

Next Tuesday it's going to be in the upper 70s. We'll see about that 100+ next Friday, if it does get very hot again it'll only last 2 days like it did in June.
